An AFC exec on Chargers QB Justin Herbert:
He doesn't seem comfortable in the offense. I don't know that it's a great schematic fit for his talents.
He's throwing a lot of picks where he simply isn't seeing defenders. I don't know how it gets better."

Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh on how involved he can be in offensive adjustments that need to be made: "We're working harder and smarter."
on calling OC Mike McDaniel the head coach of the offense: "It's our offense. That's how I look at it."

Per Harbaugh, Khalil Mack (rest), Daiyan Henley, Brenen Thompson and Deane Leonard won’t practice for #Chargers today.
Harbaugh said Henley is viewed as more of a rest day after sustaining a shoulder injury against the Rams. Henley did return to the game.

Herbert has responsibility in all of this of course, but this should be viewed as the lasting legacy of Harbaugh, Hortiz, and McDaniel.
Took a consensus top 5-10 QB and made him the laughing stock of the league.
#Rams S Quentin Lake on what it was like facing Justin Herbert on Sunday:
“I mean, he was throwing deli meat out there. He’s seeing ghosts, I’m not gonna lie. We knew we were gonna get a couple.”

Harbaugh suggested Chargers would rethink 3-RB rotation and potentially adjust to promote better rhythm: "Yeah, maybe. I think that's something that we're looking at, and I think we'll try that, yeah."
He has shut down questions about this before. Something to monitor.
RT @bynoahfurtado: Jim Harbaugh says Chargers TE David Njoku (knee) will have his practice window opened from IR this week.

Jim Harbaugh has never been in this position before. He is the coach who turns things around. He’s done it his entire career. He was going to do it again for the Chargers. That is the Jim Harbaugh he knows.
His resume has no answer for 0-7.
Harbaugh and GM Joe Hortiz still appear to be catching up on the severity of this season. Clock is ticking.

The Chargers are moving on to Week 9 of the 2026 season.
Rashawn Slater has appeared in four games combined across the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
I'm tired of hearing how great he is when he plays. Availability is part of being a great player. At some point, skill and talent don't mean much if you're rarely on the field.
I used to be firmly opposed to the idea of moving him to another position, but I'm not sure how that conversation isn't on the table at this point.

I always remember this interview with former Chargers Matt Slauson and Danny Woodhead.
Slauson is referring to 2016 under Mike McCoy and McCoy being prevented from making changes to the lineup from a decision maker above him.
It always feels like this is still going on.

Three of the 5 worst offensive performances all season (EPA/Drive) happened today: Chargers, Colts, and Falcons.
The Chargers offense somehow got worse during the bye. This was their worst game all year based on EPA.
Their 2nd-worst game was against the Chiefs before the bye.
