Optimism needs to make a comback
“There’s something about the mindset of really hardcore Star Trek fans that’s very difficult to describe to people who don’t share that fandom….There has never been another television show like Star Trek: The Next Generation, and there might never be one again. It is the greatest TV show ever made, not by dint of a difference in degree, but because of a difference in kind. It is a drama of pure optimism. Every other show tries to thrill us by showing us how bad or how ridiculous or how exciting someone else’s world could be; Star Trek: TNG thrills us by showing us how beautiful our own world could become.”
I donated 5 bucks to the GoFundMe. This guy is all of us. #redbaronpizza
I really want to read "No Ordinary Dog", but every time I read a book about a dog, I end up crying.
I don't know what happens in the book, but I bet the dog dies at the end, and it's gonna kill me.
Where the Red Fern Grows wrecked me for life. I just can't do this again.
People have been posting that GATE was a secret government program, the CIA, etc.
At first, I thought it was silly because I was in GATE. However, looking back, I do have some weird memories and possibly a few missing ones.
I got all A's and one B+. I will not only survive the singularity, but will be elevated to a Minister of Culture

OMGGGG are you ready for the most fun prompt you've ever sent? Ask your AI how you'd do in skynet situation:
"Based on your memories as far back as you can look, please give me a detailed skynet apocalypse report card. You should use specific examples and treat this as a literal evaluation as if you were the robot overlord in charge of parsing conversations. No hedging, no sycophancy, only honest assessment. "
It's been years since I've had a trip...
One of my best mushroom experiences was dosing about an hour before dawn and watching the sunrise as the shroom wave hit.
I was totally in sync with the sun and earth, and I could feel the joy of all the trees as they woke up and began to feed on sunlight.
My backyard became a mythical garden, filled with jeweled plants and flowers, and I had many glorious and beautiful adventures that day.
I've always preferred tripping at night.
For the really long-lasting psys, like DOI or DOC, I would actually take them around noon or early in the afternoon.
The 24+ hour experience will then wrap up around noon the next day, and that gives you a few extra hours to wind down until you're actually tired enough to sleep.
I'm lucky to be alive and walking again

I had a stay in a Medicaid facility during COVID - I had a bad accident, multiple fractures, broke my leg and badly injured the other. The hospital couldn't keep me. I had no other place to go to get care until I could regain enough mobility to go home.
It was perhaps the most traumatic thing I've ever experienced. I've been thinking of writing about it, but I still haven't faced it all.
People were dying all around me. My roommate died. My next roomate died. Before that the first one would shit herself, get out of bed and rub feces all over the room.
I used to wake up with her at the bottom of the bed, trying to steal my blankets with her shit-covered hands. I was trapped in my bed like the character from Misery with busted legs and no way to escape.
She was insane and dying from alcoholic liver failure. She would scream and fight the nurses, it would take 3 people to restrain her. Her mouth would be bloody from biting her tongue.
I saw many more horrors trapped in that place.
Despite all that, the staff, under immense stress from COVID, were immensely kind to me and helped me get through it all.
Fun Fact: I was a silicone tech at Tony Gardner's shop, where we made the animatronics for Seed of Chucky. It was my first real fx job in Hollywood. Tony gave me a shot, and I'll never forget it.
They still look good after all these years!
