They need to do #TheBachelerotte "Real Life" where the contestants have to go to work, buy Tampons for the Bachelorette, do laundry/dishes and deal with asshole toddlers. None of this fantasy suite/date stuff. The final date is surviving man flu and a pregnancy scare.

The purpose of life is to be happy. This is what all human beings have in common—the wish to lead a happy life. Many think that happiness is to be found outside us in material things, but actually it’s something that comes from within, from warm-heartedness and concern for others

We have two kinds of emotion, those that are destructive, like anger and jealousy, which destroy our peace of mind and damage our health. But we also have other constructive emotions, like compassion, that bring us inner strength.

I urge young women to accept leadership roles. We need you to promote love and compassion. Realise my dream—that the 200 nations of the world be governed by women. There’ll be less war, violence, and economic and social injustice because strength is rooted in love and compassion

There's an intimate connection between love and compassion, on the one hand, and genuine happiness, on the other. The indispensability of compassion touches us all, from the very first day of our lives, when we're wholly dependent on the love of our mother or some other caregiver

Me (having #anxiety about #coronavirus and #Quarantine): They even cancelled the #Masters for the 1st time since #WW2! T gives speech about how things were even worse then. Me: It doesn't make me feel better that you have to refer to the Holocaust to find a worse situation.

An organization might respond to scandal by distancing themselves from an abusive leader once they’re exposed. They might then promote that decision as a sign of virtue while failing to acknowledge they were willing to look the other way for as long as the abuse remained hidden.

Got a "first class" on my first big research paper in #gradschool. Feels pretty good after being out of school for 11 years. My research was on the woman considered first female historian and primary Byzantine chronicler of the first crusade: Anna Komnene. #history #HERstory
