A little reminder on interaction with children, especially when giving instructions.
CHUNK - Give bite-sized information that they can digest easily
CHILL - Wait 10 seconds for them to think about what was said
CHECK - Check that they child has understood the instruction

Some children need more time to think before they speak. Don't feel you have to fill in silence with lots of talking!

This includes rewording the question. It’s hard… especially if you’re being observed (the silence feels SO awkward) but that 10 seconds really can make a huge difference for those with processing difficulties.
