Tomorrow is #nationallatinophysicianday Stay tuned as we celebrate the day by honoring the Latino(a) physician workforce and raise awareness about how the lack of Latinos in healthcare impacts Latino health outcomes.

I was a lifeguard while in HS. For 3 years I guarded at a local pond. You have no idea how incensed I am watching this video where there is a clear active drowning victim. This should result in lawsuits and jail time for the people responsible. #CrossFit

TW: suicide
There is an empty corner desk in a resident workroom at GW. Now forever engraved in my mind, that desk is a harrowing reminder of the cost of medical training. In his final words, Dr. William West said that he was simply out of gas, that he had nothing left to give.

Hey, call your friend and just check in on them. Times are tough and sometimes that quick call can be a huge help to them and to you. #MedEd #MedTwitter #friends #family

We must celebrate women’s bodies for their capabilities, not just their appearance. Strength isn't just for men or elite athletes—it's for all of us.

This is my dear friend, Nakita.
Nakita and I were medical school classmates and both interns in New York City. Nakita tragically took her own life on May 26.
She is such a beautiful soul. She was so fun to be around. She was intelligent, charismatic, and confident. (1/x)

If a female tells you that she’s in medical school or she’s a medical student, it means she’s going to school to become a physician, not an RN, not a PA, not an NP. A physician.

Great review of how Covid (and previous other infectious diseases) can trigger autoimmune disease. This is why asking about a COVID infection is important part of a past medical history. And check antibodies

Your risk is far greater from not working out as opposed to being injured from working out.
Thank you @templemedical for hosting Philly Ultrafest this past weekend, a hands-on #POCUS conference for medical students from the Philadelphia region. Grateful for the efforts #TempleMed has made throughout my medical education to incorporate #Ultrasound training. #MedTwitter

I'm struggling to find the words for this past week. I'm home but not with the answers and solutions I was hoping for. I am not "fixed" or "better". So many people are telling me, "get well soon" and "I hope you have a smooth recovery". Unfortunately, when it comes to chronic 1/3 – at Seattle, WA

We as a body of physicians must take a hard look at the data on sleep & do away with the archaic model of medical training that sleep deprives & dehumanizes young doctors.
Sleep deprivation should not be seen as a rite of passage of training, but as a violation of human rights.
Had the great opportunity recently to engage in critical conversations over #Nutrition and it’s role in #HealthAndWellness at a community health fair at #TempleMed, emphasizing that some of the most attainable efforts with consistency can be impactful as #FoodIsMedicine!
