Same way I questioned how they have Unai Simon best keeper just because of 7 game tournament and conceding almost 60 goals with his club but ignore David Raya who was incredibly good and consistent last season. They really got it wrong there.
🚨🗣️ Gary Neville questions the Ballon d’Or organisers for naming Luis de la Fuente Men’s Coach of the Year over Luis Enrique and Mikel Arteta.
“How do you overlook Luis Enrique, who won Ligue 1 and the Champions League back to back after managing 56 games and Mikel Arteta, who managed 63 games, won the Premier League, arguably the most competitive league in the world and reached the UCL final, in favour of a coach whose achievements came in a seven game international tournament?
Club managers spend an entire season developing these players, only for national team coaches to benefit from that work and receive the individual recognition. When will club managers get the credit they deserve?
This decision raises serious questions about the criteria behind these awards.”

DAVID RAYA WAS ROBBED! 🧤🚨
How do you look at David Raya’s performances, his consistency, his composure, his incredible saves, and his impact on Arsenal, and then decide that Unai Simón deserves the Best Goalkeeper Award over him?
What exactly are we rewarding here? Reputation? Trophies? Or actual goalkeeping performances?
David Raya last season showed time and time again that he is more than just a goalkeeper. He is a game-changer. His reflexes, positioning, command of the box, distribution, and ability to deliver under pressure make him arguably the best last season .
He was a crucial part of Arsenal’s defensive strength, with so many outstanding performances when his team needed him most. His consistency and ability to make difficult saves look routine are qualities that should never be overlooked.
Now, let me be clear: Unai Simón is a quality goalkeeper which no one is denying his abilities or the incredible work he has done for Spain. But acknowledging his quality does not mean we should ignore Raya’s achievements.
An award for the best goalkeeper should be about who performed best between the posts all season and not simply who won the biggest trophy or played for the most successful team.
If individual awards are genuinely about individual performances, then every goalkeeper deserves to be judged by the same standards.
And that is precisely why Raya’s omission from the top spot raises serious questions.
Football fans can disagree about tactics, teams, and players. That is part of the beautiful game. But when individual excellence is being rewarded, consistency, decisive saves, and overall performance must count for something
David Raya deserved far more respect in this conversation.
You can give Unai Simón the trophy, but you cannot force everyone to agree that he was the better goalkeeper. 🧤🔥
And before you come for me, I am not an Arsenal fan, just a honest opinion.
Unai Simón winning Best Keeper in a 7-game tournament while conceding almost 60 goals last season, over David Raya who was outstanding all season, is still a mystery to me. Raya performed all season, yet they gave it to him.

Sometimes, all you need to do is to leave your comfort zone, and always remember it’s never too late to achieve your goals. Imagine if he was still at Tottenham.
But Barca fans and journalists are wicked oo, how do you intend to win the ballon dor with just one goal at the World Cup?
Mbappé would’ve won this Ballon d’Or if only he had won anything last season, even if it was just the Copa del Rey.
