Today, at Speke Resort Munyonyo, I chaired the 2nd Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Troop-Contributing Countries to the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM). I pointed out that Uganda’s involvement in Somalia was never because we share a border, but out of principle and strategy. We rejected the extremism that seeks to impose itself on African societies and stood in solidarity with our brothers and sisters.
Africa has a rich history of respecting one another’s identity, and I remain confident that, through our collective efforts, we shall continue supporting Somalia’s journey towards lasting peace and stability. I thank the Troop-Contributing Countries and their leaders for their commitment and sacrifice in the pursuit of a peaceful and stable Somalia.

Today, I visited the NAJJERA industrial hub in Kungu, home to ADMA International, Nova Plastic Packaging Ltd, and SAMCO Plastics. I was impressed by their commitment to value addition, job creation, and the #BuyUgandaBuildUganda initiative. The hub employs over 200 Ugandans and continues to strengthen Uganda’s export potential. We remain committed to supporting value chains in cocoa, coffee and our other raw materials to drive industrial growth and prosperity.

I joined the Hon. Minister @Tumukunde_ for a high-level courtesy call Meeting with the @UNFPA delegation, beautifully led by Country Representative @KristineBlokhus.
We engaged in fruitful deliberations on scaling youth empowerment, championing gender equality, and cementing our collective commitment to human capital development as a cornerstone for socio-economic growth.
Our profound appreciation to @UNFPA for their unwavering investment in Uganda's young people. Together, we are crafting a legacy of resilience and opportunity for generations to come.
