In Profaned, the Xiphis, this crocodile monster is inspired by a cryptid beast from ancient Egypt (2nd century B.C.), the “Xiphis", which was depicted by the Romans in the Nile Mosaic of Palestrina . It looks like an hippopotamus, depicted in the same mosaic. (3rd pic)
