And why exactly do the police deserve any support from the public? They need reminding of the purpose of the role they undertook and more over they are PERSONALLY laible for everything they do and what they fail to do. If I was this CHILD's dad that copper would be in court!

Calling people “very stupid” while leaving them to assemble your sentences is a bold move, Rod. Does the punctuation arrive separately? 🎩
Someone has to say it most people are actually very stupid, they follow they cannot think for themselves. It’s quite different to the ones who use their common sense where to vote.

Ah, the Reform patriotism test: vote Nigel or leave your Union Jack at reception. Lewis says nobody owns anybody’s vote. You respond by questioning Restore activists’ love of Britain. Thank you for demonstrating his point quite so enthusiastically. You’ve gone from announcing that you’re angrier than everyone else to deciding who qualifies as a patriot. Is there an examination, Matt, or do we just submit a photograph of ourselves applauding Nigel? People can love this country and have serious objections to Reform’s leadership, policies and judgement. Dismissing those objections as “hatred” conveniently saves you the trouble of answering them. And accusing the people you want to unite with of fake patriotism is certainly an imaginative recruitment strategy. “Together, we can save Britain. First, a short presentation on why you’re all terrible people.” You say it’s about the country. Then make a case that respects the people living in it—including those who won’t vote as instructed. You’re asking for their trust while insulting their motives. Perhaps that explains why the sales pitch needs work. Yours, loving Britain without requiring a certificate from Matt, A Gentleman from the Old School. 🎩

It’s actually about the country, which senior Restore activists seem to have forgotten. The only thing that is motivating your leader and activists is a hatred of Nigel Farage and Reform. Not a love of Britain. If you were true patriots you would put Britain first & recognise the reality. Instead, you are leading people into a political cul-de-sac and calling it “patriotism” when it is no such thing.

Another reason to boycott the @BBC licence fee!
BBC sparked anger as apologist for Hamas given platform on BBC’s Today show Swedish activist Andreas Malm, 49, who has called Hamas heroic and described the October 7 massacre as a beautiful act of liberation, was invited onto the BBC’s Today programme. Malm was barred from entering the UK after immigration officials said his presence may not be conducive to the public good. He had been due to speak alongside the co founder of the proscribed group Palestine Action. In a previous lecture he said future generations would see the mass killing of civilians as the ugly dimensions of a fundamentally beautiful liberation struggle. The BBC has faced criticism for giving him a platform. The BBC showing their true colours yet again yet another reason to boycott the bbc More in comments

The Arab-Islamic Slave Trade enslaved more people than the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Slavery was only banned in Oman in 1970, Qatar in 1952 and Turkey in 1923. If anyone owes reparations it isn’t us.
A welcome step from the PM. The Transatlantic Slave Trade was one of history’s most heinous crimes. We must be honest about how the horrors of our past have shaped the present - because only then can we begin to build a fairer future for everyone.

What is happening right now at Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal is, in my view, nothing less than a COUP D’ÉTAT! Donald Tusk is doing everything in his power to illegally seize control of yet another public institution, acting outside the law and trampling on Poland’s constitutional order. His ultimate goal is to establish the supremacy of EU law over Polish law, force through the EU Migration Pact, and flood Poland with tens of thousands, potentially hundreds of thousands, of illegal migrants. He wants Poland to stop being an island of safety, stability and prosperity in Europe. He wants our country to suffer the same economic destruction, social chaos and devastation that we are witnessing in other parts of Europe. Donald Tusk is acting exclusively in Germany’s interests - NOT in the interests of the Polish people. Poland is a sovereign nation. We will not surrender our independence, our security or our future! Listen to what @D_Tarczynski has to say!

This is what you get when you have close ties with the EU! Democracy is democracy when it serves the left. Everything else is wrong and unjust. This IS the Labour Party, the Lib Dems and the Greens. Do not vote for these vermin.
🚨 European union and globalists just crossed a line it can't uncross. And almost nobody noticed. 🚨 ⚠️ Friday night in Warsaw, the president of Poland's Constitutional Tribunal was suspended for a month. Within hours, police sealed off the building. The head of the country's highest court was left standing outside the gates of his own court. Protesters cut the chain on the gate with a saw. The President of Poland turned his plane around mid-flight to Senegal and rushed home in the middle of the night. Donald Tusk's response: "Restoring the rule of law is our duty. There is no other way." Read that again. Restoring the rule of law with riot police around a constitutional court. ⚠️ Whether you like PiS and its judges is not the point. The point is the precedent. A government just showed that you can push out the head of a supreme court through an internal maneuver, secure it with uniforms, and call it "the rule of law." The next government, whoever it is, now has the playbook. And Brussels? Not one word of condemnation. The same Brussels that froze billions for Poland for years in the name of judicial independence. That triggered Article 7. That unlocked everything within weeks the moment the "right" government took power. ⚠️ The message to 450 million Europeans is crystal clear: the rule of law is no longer a rule. It's a label. You stick it on your allies and peel it off your enemies. And that's exactly where everything breaks. A civilization rests on one thing: trust in the rules. That the rule applies to you the same as to me. That a judge doesn't depend on who won the last election. When that trust dies, everything else follows. Slowly at first. Then all at once. Look around. ⚠️ Security: a high-intensity war on our doorstep for over four years, armies we let wither for three decades, a defense that still depends on Washington, and a continent unable to decide anything fast. ⚠️ Economy: energy we can't afford, industry packing up and leaving, not a single tech giant at American or Chinese scale, growth running in place, and a regulatory machine that produces more rules than companies. ⚠️ Politics: governments hanging on by a handful of votes, voters who no longer believe anyone, and trust in institutions at rock bottom everywhere. At the top, an elite that spent twenty years telling us everything was fine, that the project was irreversible, that the only real danger was "populists." They're taking on water from every side. And they know it. When a system feels its legitimacy slipping through its fingers, it does exactly what Warsaw just did: it replaces persuasion with force, and calls it virtue. It never starts with a spectacular collapse. It starts with one institution bypassed "for a good cause." Then a second. Then you stop counting. 🚨 Warsaw, October 30, 2026. Remember the date. The other dominoes are already tipping.

A brief explanation for those with no knowledge of Polish politics: A year ago, the Polish people elected a conservative president, Karol Nawrocki. Poland currently has a left-liberal government, which, however, does not yet control the courts. Tusk government is attempting to take illegal control of the courts in order to undermine the election of President Nawrocki. Only in this way can Tusk secure absolute power for himself. Tusk knows he will lose the 2027 elections, so he is attempting to undermine the state’s constitutional order and to remove a president beloved by the Polish people. This is literally a war of cynicism and evil against sincerity, the voice of the people, and goodness. Pray for Poland and president Nawrocki.

Pete, “quiet electoral discipline” is a wonderfully grand way of saying everyone else should stop arguing and vote as instructed. You can argue that Lowe’s conditions were too demanding. Name the conditions, explain your objections and tell us what compromise Reform should offer. That would be a discussion about cooperation. Instead, we get a psychological assessment, a theory about subscription revenue and the conclusion that everyone disagreeing with Nigel must have a sinister motive. Quite the investigation. Interviews apparently optional. And this “drama drives clicks” argument is particularly entertaining beneath a discussion of Matt publicly attacking Restore. Does political outrage only become a business model when the wrong party benefits? As for first-past-the-post: yes, divided votes can cost seats. That explains an electoral problem. It doesn’t appoint Farage the owner of every vote on the Right. Building a coalition means persuading people with different priorities that an agreement serves them too. Calling them self-righteous profiteers is an unusual opening offer. So what does Reform bring to the negotiation beyond its expectation that everyone else should give way? Because “unity” becomes rather less convincing when all the concessions are somebody else’s responsibility. You’ve supplied plenty of reasons why we should obey. You’re still remarkably short of reasons why we should trust. Yours, awaiting the offer beneath the lecture, A Gentleman from the Old School. 🎩
Replying to @EngGentleman7
You claim Rupert Lowe offered “cooperation,” but issuing a rival party an impossible list of non-negotiable demands isn’t building a coalition, it’s engineering a rejection so you can play the martyr. I think this is just one example that proves Matt’s point about motives. The splinter ecosystem has zero incentive to unite because factional warfare, purity tests, and anti-Reform drama drive clicks, subscriptions, and relevance far better than quiet electoral discipline ever could. Preach all you want about Farage failing to “earn” your vote, but FPTP doesn’t score for self-righteousness while Restore pofiteers from grievances and treats basic coalition arithmetic like an insult, the Left consolidates and takes power anyway.
