Perché no? Come ho detto, io amo Lennon”.

“Brothers in Arms” was originally released by Dire Straits in 1985 as the title track of their acclaimed album Brothers in Arms. Written by Mark Knopfler, the haunting anti-war ballad became one of the band's most celebrated songs. In 1988, Dire Straits reunited to perform at Wembley Stadium, London, as part of the Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute, held on June 11 to raise international awareness of Mandela's imprisonment and the struggle against apartheid. The concert was broadcast to more than 60 countries and reached an estimated audience of around 600 million people worldwide.
The performance was particularly notable because Eric Clapton joined Dire Straits on guitar. The band's regular second guitarist, Jack Sonni, was unable to perform after the birth of his twin daughters, so Clapton stepped in for the historic event. The concert marked Dire Straits' return to the stage after the conclusion of their Brothers in Arms world tour in 1986.
