The successful conclusion of these negotiations is a landmark moment for global trade. It opens meaningful opportunities for European manufactuers to access a market of around 4 million passenger cars that has long been shielded by import tariffs as high as 110%.  However, the agreement does come with important restrictions such as quota limitations and residual tariffs that will limit the potential benefit to some extent. We look forward to reviewing the detailed terms of the deal will begin once the texts are published in the coming weeks. Delivery by the US on its tariff reduction commitments is a really positive step towards reducing trade tensions.
