More from tonight's East Potomac ruling: the order may put President Trump's Nov. 15 start for construction on the golf course renovation out of reach.
Judge Reyes is requiring 10 business days' written advance notice before the golf course can close — in whole or in part — and before any irreversible change to the park's landforms, vegetation, course design, hydrology, pathways or structures.
Trump announced Oct. 18 on Truth Social the course would close to play Nov. 15 and that restoration work would begin that day. The DOJ has to file that notice in the next few days for the date the president set to legally happen.
BREAKING: A federal judge has blocked the Trump administration from cutting down any more trees at East Potomac Golf Links — with about four hours to spare before her earlier order expired at midnight.
Judge Ana Reyes granted a preliminary injunction Monday night barring the Interior Department and National Park Service from cutting, felling or "otherwise damaging or impairing" any tree in East Potomac Park without a court order. It also bars staging equipment inside a tree's root zone, which effectively halts site work.
Roughly 300 trees were slated to come down. President Trump has planned a massive tear down and renovation of the historic public course.

JUST IN: Judge Reyes has granted a preliminary injunction in the DC golf course case. The Trump administration is indefinitely barred from chopping more trees. They also must provide 10 days' notice before closing or making any "irreversible modification" to the course.

Looks like what runners and cyclists feared could come true: Trump’s plans for a new golf course at East Potomac Park seem to eliminate the existing three-mile roads that circles the island. It’s a popular destination for running, riding, and driving access to Hains Point.
New: Trump says that East Potomac Golf Course will close on Nov 15 for the redesign by Tom Fazio.
“Restoration work will begin on the Fazio Design on November 15th, when the old Course will be closed to play. The new Course will be opened in approximately 15 months.”
This comes as there is a heated legal dispute right now about whether the government can redesign the course.
The Justice Department is moving to disqualify Judge Ana Reyes from the East Potomac golf course case — calling her conduct "nothing short of egregious" and her "histrionics" proof "she is no longer impartial."
The motion is signed by the No. 3 official at DOJ - Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward.
