Ben McCollum shares what it feels like to be around first-place people and a first-place culture. "I went to Northwest Missouri State, and my first practice with Steve Tapmeyer - best coach I've ever been around - I sat there and I'm like, 'This is what first place feels like. This is what a first-place culture feels like. This is what first-place people feel like.'" That was the wake-up call. He realized what first-place people have: "They've got an extreme work ethic. They've got an edge to 'em that other people don't - a competitive spirit." Then he quoted John Thompson: "You can tame a fool a lot quicker than you can resurrect a corpse...We want guys with a little edge to 'em." You can coach skills, but you can't coach competitive spirit. You don't want to consistently coach their effort and attitude. The last thing they look for: Energy givers. "Over the years, we found that guys that are moody don't make it in our program." "If you're moody, if you have low energy, if you suck the life out of the building - you don't make it." Talent isn't enough. Your energy matters. Your attitude matters. Successful people have a competitive edge, they bring energy, and they look to consistently get better. They raise the standard through what they do. (🎥 Watts Happening Podcast)

I saw a post where a guy said “Someone needs to explain to me what Jordan was better at than LeBron.” Offense and defense. I hope that clears it up.

Trade Holliday, Rogers, Cowser and anyone else that can bring back 3 middling minor leaguers. True Oriole fans have only been waiting 43 years for another World Series title, what's another 20. Hope my dad and I will still be alive to see it. @MElias

0-2 hanging slider hit for a walk-off Grand Slam. The @Royals just keep finding ways to lose. Wasted a great start by Noah Cameron. Erceg and Strahm have been awful lately. 🤷🤦

I'm old enough to remember when everybody was MAGA. Bill Clinton 1993: "We have to end welfare as a way of life and make it a path to independence and dignity." Barack Obama 2005: "We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected undocumented unchecked and go around our communities without our knowledge of them." Hillary Clinton 2008: "If they've committed a crime deport them. No questions asked. They're gone." Chuck Schumer 2009: "Illegal immigration is wrong plain and simple." Joe Biden 2006: "I voted for a fence. I voted for 700 miles of fence." Harry Reid 1993: "No sane country would grant citizenship to children of illegal immigrants." Bernie Sanders 2015: "Open borders is a Koch brothers proposal that would make everybody in America poorer." The Secure Fence Act of 2006 had yes votes from Obama, Hillary, Schumer and Biden. Don't you dare allow them to gaslight you into thinking your values are racist and radical. These used to be mainstream Democrat positions. They only changed their minds once their party decided to use illegals to steal power from the American people.

It’s over! We have the PROOF. LeBron James signing with Philadelphia has revealed who he truly is at his core. A mercenary. The history is now undeniable. - When he couldn’t lead a team to a championship, he had Dwyane Wade do it for him on a superteam. On his way out, Cavs Owner Dan Gilbert accused him of quitting in a playoff series, saying “Go back and look at the tape”. Gilbert called him a quitter. - When that superteam got old, he joined another in Cleveland, prompting Miami President Pat Riley to say “This stuff is hard. And you've got to stay together if you've got the guts. You don't find the first door and run out of it”. Riley said he had no guts. - When Kyrie abandoned him, and realized that he couldn’t win without him, he bolted to LA, and lost until Anthony Davis saved him. Last season it was revealed in a report that Jeanie Buss had grew frustrated by his "outsized ego" and power within the franchise. — Rob Pelinka this offseason then allowed LeBron to save face, by pretending it was his decision to leave the franchise, so he bolted back East where he has an easier path to a championship next to three other All NBA players and one of last season’s rookie of the year candidates. Buss called him an ego-maniac. An outsized ego, with no guts, who is a quitter. Their words, not mine. Now this final move proves what everyone has said all along — He ain’t Jordan and he ain’t Kobe Bryant. He’s a mercenary, an opportunist, and he’s proven time and time again, when the going gets tough, LeBron packs his bags and runs away. Don’t take my word for it, take it from the people who led the franchises that he played with; Dan Gilbert, Pat Riley, and Jeanie Buss — In their own words. LeBron James never lacked the talent…….He lacked heart.

These guys were 𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘤 ⚡ Vance the only one on there twice!
In 1997, JD Drew had the only 30 HR/30 SB season in NCAA history. Since then, there have been 33 players who had 20/20 seasons. Only 6 players with 25/25... Vance Honeycutt has 2 of them. Georgia’s Daniel Jackson is on pace to become the 7th member of the 25/25 club. 🧵

To many characters and not enough character in the coaching profession nowadays. It just doesn't make sense.
