Every single English person and American, Canadian, Australian, New Zealander, or anyone else anywhere else with English ancestry is descended from William the Conqueror in addition to Alfred the Great. We all descend from Edward III, Penda of Mercia, and many more as well.
Every single person of Scottish ancestry would descend from Kennth MacAlpin who united the Gaelic kingdom of Dál Riata and the Kingdom of the Picts into Alba which went on to become Scotland. The biggest demographic development of the last 30 years in the United States, it turns out, was not related to immigration enforcement, but to the recession of 2008-2010 that halted and even reversed Hispanic growth and shut down the housing pipeline that had accommodated it.
The white TFR in 1996 was 1.78 compared to the national rate of 1.98 and as of 2026 it's only down to 1.60 compared to 1.56 nationally, but the white share of the population back then was higher so the share of births to white mothers dropped from 61.5% in 1996 to 51.1% today. The largest declines in white share of births were in Nevada, Massachusetts and Oregon which saw a large Hispanic influx while in New York, Mississippi and DC the white share actually increased.
