Rock came through!
Hello Mr. @TimRaines30.
You don’t know me, and it’s likely you won’t see this tweet. But I wrote my master’s thesis about you and would love to get it signed if at all possible. Let me know!
OU fan threw a beer at my dad after this game. Fun night.
This might be a hot take, but I hate that every single Tech home game has some color theme. A couple of big ones, sure. But doing it for every single game makes it less special.
With it being College Sports Communicators week, I'd like to thank the ones who taught me everything I know - @ScottLacefield, @Brandon_Ireton, @The_Jonck and @Due_Man!

GRRM did not invent “hand of the king” either. Heck, Timothy Zhan used “hand of the emperor” in a Star Wars book released five years before ASOIAF
#whoremembers the time she ripped off the ‘hand of the king’ title from asoiaf because she genuinely thought it was an actual position in medieval court instead of something george made up

Texas Tech is 5-1 in ranked-vs-ranked matchups under Joey McGuire. The program was 11-23 in such games before he took over in 2022.
The interesting part about Tech’s offense being so bad is that it hides the fact that the defense is also not good.
I’m sorry, but every quote I see from this guy makes him seem like an actual supervillain.
Yormark saved the conference and then made a string of really stupid decisions after that. Weird tenure.

🚨BREAKING: The Republican Women’s Caucus Fund has been unmasked as the force behind the fake Texas Transgender Student Union (TTSU). This Wyoming LLC, formed in September, flooded as many as 3 million Texas mailboxes and phones with texts and brochures just as early voting began for the midterms.
Posing as a trans advocacy outfit, the materials—addressed to the children of registered voters—coached minors on seeking gender-affirming care even against parents’ wishes, pursuing emancipation, going out-of-state for hormones or surgery, and finding a “found family.” They copied branding from the real Transgender Education Network of Texas (TENT) and used a near-identical address.
Legal filings named the Republican Women’s Caucus and “John Braun”—the name of a Washington state senator whose campaign treasurer, Paul Kilgore, also handles finances for the RWC Fund and PACs supporting Ken Paxton’s Senate bid against Democrat James Talarico. TTSU’s lawyer is former Paxton assistant AG Chris Hilton.
TENT sued, claiming harassment, threats, and operational harm. Judge Jan Soifer ordered disclosure, rejecting free-speech secrecy claims.
So, a Republican-linked group, with financial ties to Paxton-supporting PACs, mass-produced and distributed materials that impersonated a transgender student resource guide. In other words, the people who routinely accuse the transgender community of “indoctrinating” or targeting children, themselves produced and mailed the very content designed to look like that targeting—so parents would see it and react.
Every Republican accusation is a confession.
Coaches live in a vacuum and are focused entirely on their product. That's their right. But a lot of peripheral people (training, SID, facilities ops, etc) need to be significantly involved before, during and after every game. None are mentioned here, and nearly all are opposed.
Replying to @DavidPSamson
@DavidPSamson says MLB no longer needs radio: "We don't need baseball on radio anymore." The former Marlins president predicts on Nothing Personal that "radio will go the way of Kodak and Blockbuster." @JohnMamola has more. #MLB

This game ruled, and the trailer for it used Verdi’s Dies Irae, which is awesome.

"I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" On this day in 1886, the Statue of Liberty was officially dedicated.
Art Briles recently lost a game to Sul Ross.
Cody Campbell, if you’re out there, please bring Art Briles in to save #TexasTech.
