The 17-year-old arrested for last Saturday’s fatal Midtown subway station shooting has been identified as Xavian Collins, and he will be charged as an adult on a count of second-degree murder for the death of Darrel Rodriguez, 26. He left his phone behind, and it contained photos of “enormous piles of $100 bills,” which the Manhattan DA’s office said was evidence of gang ties. The defense attorney: “I see these photos and who knows these days if they’re real or not ... With AI, you could create any of them. The stack [of cash], I see, has a $5 bill on top.” It didn't work, and Collins will be held without bail. His lawyer said he lives in a Queens homeless shelter with his mother and is a student at Martin Luther King, Jr. high school in Manhattan. nypost.com/2026/10/22/us-new…

Hey @NYCCouncil — the Fifth Amendment protects private property rights. COPA forces certain owners to delay sales, gives government-approved nonprofits preferential purchase rights, and threatens penalties of up to 15% of a property's sale price. That's a recipe for Fifth Amendment takings challenges and Eighth Amendment excessive-fines litigation. Since when does City Hall get to decide who deserves first dibs on somebody else's property?
NYC Council quietly passes bill that forces owners to give nonprofits first dibs on buying their properties for 90 days trib.al/6gNEct0

🚨 Breaking tonight: Omar is not the real name of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), according to multiple sources just reported by Fox News’ @BillMelugin_ New court filings identify her as “Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, that’s the same last name as the brother she’s rumored to have married.” Federal agents searched her home on October 12 in an investigation tied to immigration paperwork. Omar denies any fraud and calls the search political intimidation.

Gordon Ramsay fired his father-in-law and accused him of taking £1.42 million from the company. In 2017, his father-in-law was sentenced to six months in prison for conspiring to hack the company's systems. In the video below, Ramsay is asked which moment in his life he would go back and change. His answer: "Never employ family." Years earlier, he had asked that same father-in-law, Chris Hutcheson, for £20,000 toward a flat deposit while driving a Porsche. "I'll have another lunch with you when you sell your Porsche," Hutcheson replied, advice Ramsay still calls the best he ever gave him. Hutcheson ran Ramsay's business and spent 12 years at his side. In October 2010, Ramsay fired him amid allegations of financial misconduct. Ramsay later accused his father-in-law of withdrawing £1.42 million from the company to fund a double life. Hutcheson denied wrongdoing, saying the money was taken as directors' loans and properly recorded. After his dismissal, Hutcheson conspired with his sons Adam and Chris, who had IT roles at the company, to access its systems without permission. The court heard they sought financial details and other material that might give them an advantage in the civil case against Ramsay. When the access was discovered, Hutcheson emailed his son: "Guess we have been rumbled. Bit late though." In 2012, the parties settled their civil disputes and withdrew their claims, leaving the allegations about the money unproven in court. The criminal hacking case proceeded separately: in April 2017, Hutcheson and both sons pleaded guilty. By sentencing, Ramsay and Tana, Hutcheson's daughter, had begun reconciling with the family and withdrawn their support for the criminal prosecution. Hutcheson still received a prison sentence. In the later interview, Ramsay explicitly connects his conclusion to 2010: "Don't mix family and business." He explains why he does not want to simply put his own children in charge of his restaurants. After that betrayal, was Ramsay right to say "never employ family," or was the problem one business partner rather than working with relatives?

Are Democrats preparing for chaos ahead of the 2026 midterms? Data Republican nailed the whack-jobs and the WaPo ran the cover story. This election is not about superficial factors. The Dems have lost touch with the American people and are already panicking. The midterm is up for grabs and we are on the ascent.

“I think Rogers wins by five,” says @LarryOConnor about the Michigan senate race. “Abdul El-Sayed is bringing in Barack Obama, just like he brought in Kamala Harris a couple of weeks ago to shore up the black vote in Detroit and in Wayne County. That’s a bad sign… If you’re in the final stretch and you’re trying to win Michigan and you’re a Democrat and you’re trying to get the black vote in Detroit, you’re in big trouble.” @MarkHalperin @KevinPWalling

Bill maher calls out the left as gay republican george santos explains why trump voters are treated like the enemy George Santos: I was the first openly gay Republican man elected to Congress. Plenty of people were outed, but I ran openly. I am gay. Yes. Bill Maher: I’m not even going to fact-check that. Your reputation speaks for itself. George Santos: I came into the fray saying, “I’m gay, and I’m a Republican. Here are my values.” Bill Maher: But Barney Frank did it as a Democrat long before. George Santos: Democrats have been electing gay people for years. They have no issues with it. For a Republican, it was a glass ceiling. I was also shocked to learn that, for the first time in history, both major-party candidates in my race were gay. Bill Maher: I hate this about the left. George Santos: It’s not the left. It’s the gays. The left has been very tolerant of me. Bill Maher: They see you as politically right, and for some people, that’s intolerable. George Santos: The tolerant left isn’t very tolerant. Bill Maher: Yes, Trump is worse than any Democrat. I’ve said that before. But the search for truth doesn’t end there. There are 77 million Americans who voted for him. Treating everyone who voted for Trump as if they’re Trump is a simplistic, stupid way to look at the world. My opinion is Being gay doesn’t automatically make someone a Democrat, just as being conservative doesn’t mean someone should be rejected for their sexuality. You can strongly oppose Trump and still question how the left treats people who disagree with them. Does political loyalty matter more than the tolerance people claim to stand for?
