Agree with this 100%. Words can be flexible. That's why we, as writers, love them.
I am, and will always be, an aspiring writer. Regardless of success of any measure.
Hey #WritingCommunity, I just wanted to weigh in on the "if you write, you're a writer, not an aspiring writer" distinction people seem to be worrying (?) over. An act of writing makes you writer. Plain & simple. Writing a poem makes you a poet. Done & done. But I don't think...
Has anyone in the #Writingcommunity made up their own word while writing, either because they could have sworn it was a real word or simply because it just made sense in your own brain?
I just did. 'Stencheous'. So much more foreboding than 'smelly', 'stinky', or even 'pungent'.
You can tell I'm new to social media, I'm terrible at doing all this update stuff. Actually stepped away for a bit as my'to-do' plate kept boiling over to the point I had more in my lap than the amount of mixed metaphors in that sentence.
How do you all even?

And now I am going to read Harry Potter again because I want to feel like a child and believe in the magic of Avada Kedavra again.
I mean, Wingardium Levi-oh-sa. Not Wingardium Levi-o-sah. Or something.
Why do people keep trying to talk to me when I have a book in my hands? If I'm looking at my book, it means I'm not interested in anything you have to say right now.
Books should come with a sign at the back which says 'Shhhhhh ... ut up'.

First week of our writing rivalry over, score's tied at 2-2 between @NainsiCoogan and me! We'll see how this week pans out.
#Writingcommunity, name and proclaim! Who do you have keeping you accountable/honest? Do you do anything to make it 'interesting'? (Sidebets, dares, etc.)
Didn't realise buying books online could be so dangerous!
Hopefully you won't find yourselves in such a situation, but just in case. I was attempting to purchase some new (specific) reading material and came across a site I didn't recognise. Since I didn't, I investigated ...
The thing about life, you always need to keep something on the to do list.

Day 2 goes to @NainsiCoogan. Guess she really was ON HER GAME today. No chicken dinner for me tonight. #writingrivals
Another productive day, another bottle of whisky awaits.
How did your days go?

Failed miserably in our writing competition today! @LeeWillWilson kudos! But I will be ON MY GAME tomorrow!
Done. My brain is numb from all the words. Time for whisky, so I can forget about what was probably terrible brain vomit onto the pages. All so I can do it all again tomorrow without wanting to go back on myself. Whisky is therefore a writer's best friend.

Currently prepping my dinners for the week when I'm supposed to be engaged in a writing competition with @NainsiCoogan This probably isn't a great way to start it.
#writingcommunity #amwriting - not.
One of my least favourite things to do in my writing is coming up with pub/tavern names. What I end up doing therefore, is taking inspiration from names I've found humorous in the past. What amusing names has the #writingcommunity seen from past/present locales, travelling, etc?

A mild curiosity on my part, as I've seen a lot of people saying a story in 'so and so' genre. Do you actively choose the genre you're planning to write, and then write/outline the story, or do you write the story you want to write, and then decide the genre?
