ALERT: Woman claims that a man was watching porn and masturbating in first class while on a flight out of California. The woman was on a United Airlines red-eye flight from San Diego to Newark and says she specifically booked first class so she could sleep on the plane, but shortly after takeoff, she noticed something out of the corner of her eye. The man next to her was allegedly watching porn on his phone while making stroking motions underneath his blanket. “I was frozen. Horrified…I’m essentially trapped in the window seat. I would have to climb over him because he’s got his seat fully reclined in order to get out.” The woman told a flight attendant, who didn't offer to switch seats until after she texted some friends and requested to move. When the plane landed, the woman said police did not confront the man at the gate, and she was not told to contact the FBI unit until several days later, when she spoke to United customer service. United offered her $1,000 in travel credits or 50,000 miles, and she opted for the miles. United released a statement saying, “We take this issue seriously. We spoke with the customer and apologized for her experience. We have also banned the other person involved pending our investigation.” The FBI advises passengers to move seats, notify crew members, and, if you are a woman traveling alone, sit in an aisle seat.

ALERT: Great horned owl released back into the wild after months of treatment because teens beat the bird with a baseball bat. The Ojai Raptor Center in California received patient 26-224, the great horned owl, in April after a good Samaritan saved the young bird from the teens beating him with a bat. The owl was suffering from a closed fracture of a bone in his foot, as well as internal bleeding. After about 5 months of treatment, the owlet was released back into the wild, and the rescue center is urging parents to teach their kids to respect and care for wildlife. “If you see something, say something… Stepping in, contacting animal control, or calling a licensed wildlife rehabilitator can make all the difference.”

ALERT: Jury deliberating the fate of a man who ran over a sheriff, killing him, and pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity because Cincinnati police shot and killed his son a day earlier. Rodney Hinton Jr. is accused of intentionally running down Hamilton County Sheriff’s Officer Larry Henderson Jr. a day after his son was shot and killed by the Cincinnati Police Department. Hinton's attorney claims that Hinton was trying to kill himself and inadvertently killed Deputy Henderson. Hinton was found to have serious mental illness from evaluations by psychologists, but their disagreement is about whether the illness prevented Hinton from knowing right and wrong. Assistant prosecutor Kate Burroughs said in closing arguments that “impulsive is not insane. He made a choice knowing it was wrong. Angry, grieving, impulsive… the inability to control one's behavior and irresistible impulse is not a legal defense.”

Ernesto Rascón, an Arizona resident, went to see oral surgeon Amed de Jesús Preciado Hernández without an appointment and was refused service. ALERT: Serial r*pist who was caught by ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ in Mexico was released from prison in California after roughly 20 years, when he was initially sentenced to 124. Andrew Luster, the great-grandson of cosmetics mogul Max Factor, was sentenced in 2003 on over 80 charges after he used GHB to drug and r*pe 3 women. In 2013, a judge found that the trial failed to adequately explain its reasons for imposing consecutive sentences, and the sentence was reduced from 124 years to 50. Glendora Mayor David Fredendall is outraged by his early release, saying; "Andrew Luster was convicted of 86 felony counts stemming from the drugging and s*xual assault of unconscious women. He was originally sentenced to 124 years in prison. He has now been released from State prison and is reportedly residing in our community. This is unacceptable."

ALERT: Florida woman pepper sprays a convenience store clerk over an alleged price dispute on her receipt. The woman entered a Kwik Stop in Fort Lauderdale, made a purchase, then returned and argued that she had been overcharged. The store clerk then printed out her receipt to show her that he had not overcharged her and the woman reached around the plexiglass divider and pepper-sprayed him. The clerk spent hours in the emergency room and said he had to miss several days of work. The Broward Sheriff’s Office is still searching for the woman who faces potential battery charges. Spokesperson Miranda Grossman said, “Hopefully you do the right thing and call detectives, because someone shouldn’t have to worry about being pepper sprayed when they go into work."
