RIAA’s first-half 2026 report puts streaming at approximately 82% of US recorded-music revenue, compared with 12% for physical formats. Think of every $100 coming into that market roughly $82 from streaming and $12 from physicals that means a song released in 2016 can still earn streaming money in 2026 without anybody pressing another copy. This is why Spotify is bigger than the majors and why only old heads care about physicals. Before that vinyl sells, somebody has to pay to manufacture it, package it and hold the inventory. Streaming still has royalties and other costs, but another million plays don’t require another million physical products. That difference matters when you scale up. musicbusinessworldwide.com/s…

These idiots who brag about "pure" sales are buying back their albums 😂. Streaming is obviously by far the most important metric now and into the future.

Rogét Chahayed, the producer behind Sicko Mode/Laugh Now Cry Later/Brocolli/APT/First Class says TDE screwed him and didn't give him credits for two beats (For Sale? & U) on Kendrick Lamar's "To Pimp a Butterfly" when he was young and didn't know how publishing worked.
"We're going to have you sign this thing and the paper said something along the lines of you can't collect royalties, you can't collect publishing on these songs."

“You keep trying to exclude SZA out of the tour… More people were cheering for SZA than Kendrick… You’re saying Fap Tour but SZA was on the Tour” 💯
