Water Wagon Wednesday: A KC-135A ready for departure from Kadena AB, Okinawa. The tail flash was from the 509th ARS patch. The Mobil Pegasus.
I found this picture on a Facebook KC-135 page, taken by a Japanese photographer. I laughed because I was in the jump seat as the Crew Chief. We were on a Pacific Tanker Task Force deployment to Guam from Pease AFB. We had diverted into Kadena while we were on a mission from Osan AB to Anderson AFB when the cargo door pressure seal failed at 37,000 ft. This picture shows us departing for Guam after the seal was replaced.
