being floridian means watching every race the last 10 years be neck and neck between a candidate with common sense and a candidate that's gonna press the big red button to kill us all

in retrospect republicans probably shouldnt have used a 1% popular vote win to pass dozens of radical policies and start a war

Jolly and Nixon ran incredible campaigns, Florida dems got absolutely screwed by the hapless national democrats. No excuse at all to abandon them, there was PLENTY of evidence those races were close.

No matter what happens tonight in Florida, the democratic party AGAIN misjudged a glorious opportunity and basically didn't do anything. There HAS GOT to be a replacement at the top.

It’s easy to be brave with words when someone else has to say them out loud. That’s what makes the Colin Jost and Michael Che joke swap so entertaining. They don’t just write jokes for each other. They have to stand there, deliver them with a straight face, and deal with the reaction. In real life, plenty of people have strong things to say until they’re the ones who have to own the words.
Phil Leotardo turned an ice cream outing into a full lecture on masculinity, family honor, and respect. In The Sopranos, Phil sits down with his nephew, Jason Gervasi, and makes it clear that he is deeply disappointed in the young man’s behavior and appearance. But Phil isn’t just criticizing how Jason looks. He’s talking about reputation, responsibility, and the embarrassment he believes Jason is bringing upon his own mother. For Phil, family isn’t just about sharing a last name. It comes with expectations. You’re supposed to carry yourself a certain way, respect your elders, and never make your family look weak. His message is unmistakable: straighten yourself out, act like a man, and stop putting your mother through this. What makes the scene so entertaining is Phil’s delivery. He approaches the conversation with the seriousness of a Mafia boss settling a major dispute, even though they’re sitting in an ice cream parlor. And just when you think the lecture is over, Phil delivers the perfect finishing touch: he’s said his piece, and Jason needs to finish his snack because there’s no eating in the car. That final instruction is peak Phil Leotardo. He can lecture you about family honor and manhood, then immediately switch to enforcing the rules of a proper car ride. It’s funny, uncomfortable, and completely in character. Phil believes discipline starts with the little things, and he has absolutely no intention of letting Jason forget who’s in charge. Was Phil genuinely trying to help his nephew grow up, or was he simply forcing his own old-school beliefs onto the next generation?

The fact some people are mad she said this is so fucking funny specially knowing not a single one has ever stepped foot in Cuba
I say it plainly: I do not celebrate Castro. I call Cuba what it is, an authoritarian regime, and I will fight for the Cuban families who fled it. Meanwhile, Ashley Moody backs deporting Cuban families back to the regime they escaped. #AngieforFlorida

Lula surrendered to justice, faced his accusers, went to jail on tampered evidence, proved his innocence and then won 2 elections in a row. Flavio fled a day after he won 60 million votes and a congressional majority.
