BREAKING NEWS: The three Ethiopian nationals who are accused of the attempted murder that led to riots and torching of cars and businesses in the Durban CBD three weeks ago have been freed on R5000 bail by the Durban Magistrate’s Court.
The State wanted them to remain behind bars, saying they are flight risks, but the defence disagreed. The State said they won’t be safe outside, but the defence argued that all three accused literally live minutes away from three police stations in the Durban CBD and their safety is guaranteed.
The Magistrate remarked that the three are asylum seekers and as such, they enjoy the same constitutional rights as South Africans and freed them on bail with stringent conditions.
Furthermore, the State tried to point out discrepancies in their passports and asylum documents, raising issues of possible fraud and corruption.
However, the State’s argument was watered down by evidence that was given by an immigration official who told the court that their systems have glitches and sometimes it loses records, hence they don’t have some of the information required for the court to take an informed decision - KZN Tonight Podcast

Samora Machel did two things with the apartheid government:
1. Signed an agreement preventing liberation movements from establishing bases in mozambique in an exchange of the apartheid government not funding his opposition
2. Sent in migrant workers to help the apartheid government when black south africans were fighting against apartheid.
Today Zimbabweans are using the second point to claim that this country was build by migrants not telling the truth that the migrants did not care about the plight of south africans dying on the street.

I was born during apartheid but I did not experience it long enough to fully grasp the cruelty of it but today on this 16th day of October 2026, I, Jacinta Zinhle Zuma understand fully now why apartheid HAD to be Law, it had to be legislated so that anyone who dares fight the state or the system is seen as breaking the law and the very people who are custodians of the law use it against people they deem a threat…
South Africans were promised many things post-apartheid , many of those promises are yet to be fulfilled and now the government of South Africa is against people raising their dissatisfaction at them bringing in even more people to burden them further in their communities and their country, compromising their safety and making their socio-economic issues even worse…. the same people that fought a government under the disguise of “freeing” them is now a replica of the former system…
Those who are not affected by these problems are dumbing them down and dismissing them as an exaggeration! The media is on their side and anything contrary to their already existing beliefs is dismissed with the utmost enthusiasm.
