clare.fm/news/campaign-group… This morning there were 404 people waiting for beds around the country 10.8% of the national total was in UHL And now it seems we may not get a second hospital never mind a second ED for our region?

44 acres at Raheen. But where are the hospital beds? March: New hospital campus. September: Outpatients & diagnostics. 28 September: Taoiseach says new hospital in Limerick. So which is it, Minister? The Mid-West needs acute beds, not uncertainty. #InvestInTheMidwest

42 on trolleys this morning in UHL Where is the Winter Plan? When is the surgical hub opening? Day procedures should not have to stop when UHL is under pressure #WinterIsComing #InvestInTheMidwest #IrelandsBusiestED

On a day when hospitals around the country including UHL are asking people to consider alternatives to the ED FEH ask what will happen this winter

connachttribune.ie/news/galw… 🚨 BREAKING🚨 We don't begrudge GUH its beds. But where is the urgency for UHL, where HIQA has identified serious patient safety risks? Patients cannot wait. Investment should reflect clinical need & patient safety not geography or political pull!

Facts matter and talk is cheap Action is needed But we are not seeing the urgency

Another look at September What is particularly striking is that UHL has 555 general inpatient beds yet admissions every week are over 600 This is the source of UHL's "Trolley Count" The next 96 bed block is 2029 so we are looking at EXTREMELY high trolley numbers this winter

Its Saturday or what FEH Call Data Day Taking our first look at the month of September in Ireland's busiest emergency Department. Over 2000 patients presented in UHL Every week in September

Let’s talk about trolleys Or more importantly the reasons behind patients being treated in inappropriate bed spaces…

Some very interesting data from today’s RHF Clare has a huge number of presentations to UHL ED and of the 3 Midwest counties Clare has more admissions than either Limerick or Tipperary And politicians still question whether we need our own ED?

Some great questions asked this month Stay tuned for what the HSE had to say

The children’s hospital fiasco CANNOT be held up as a reason to not build what we need in the Midwest With proper governance the new board can deliver but only if Dublin allows them to! #InvestInTheMidwest
