Lots of litter removed from the park this morning by volunteer. Please consider doing your bit to reduce the waste you create. Now time for Wild West Fest!
Wild West Fest in the park today from 12pm. We hope to see you there #swanshurstpark #billesley #moseley #Birmingham #freethingstodo
A reminder that parking is now prohibited along the verges and pavements next to the park along both sides of Yardley Wood Rd and Swanshurst Lane. Enforcement officers will issue fixed penalties for anyone parked in this manner. You have been warned #billesley #moseley #parking

There’s simply no words to describe the feeling of sadness and disappointment that the true value of this incredible hub, in terms of what it gives two constituencies of the city and a quarter of a million people, hasn’t been properly measured - otherwise it would remain open 😒

omg! That is so sad. The ranger service is the life blood of the friends group , local parks and green spaces. What next? Good excuse to build houses on greenbelt that can`t be maintained due to lack of staff and funding to local environment groups.

This is so incredibly sad. Jan is so knowledgeable, caring and does a wonderful job at our parks. Absolutely awful and will affect our local green spaces dreadfully 💔 Access to local nature spaces is vital to mental and physical health; very worrying for the future.
Cuts have consequences. We’ve been well supervised by Jan Tomlinson in recent years and her loss will be deeply felt. We don’t yet know what this will mean to progressing future plans. Parks are a lifeline but neglect of them will cost more in the long term.
Friends and @BOSFonline Nature groups at @cannonhillpark @highburypark @kingsheathpark @FriendsofRVS @FOSwanshurst @DawberryFields and Lifford Reservoir are disappointed by news Sun 26 May that the Hall Green and Selly Oak sole @KingHeathRanger Office is to close on Sat 1 June 🌾
We understand the Council have served notice on the travellers currently occupying the park and they must leave by Mon. Hopefully, they leave the site in a good state. We’ll be liaising further with Parks to see whether the access point can be closed off to future excursions.

The idea for this came from the National Trust who kindly donated the cherry blossom trees to Swanshurst Park and other Birmingham green spaces. Our inspiration is the Japanese tradition of hanami - flower viewing - which encourages us to appreciate the
