I give a pass to older fighters, but guys who aren't even 30 years old? I think thats different. Even Hagler finished his career with one fight a year from 85-87, but then again, he had over 60 fights. There is a context to all this.. #boxing
After fighting 4 times in 2025, Naoya Inoue will most likely not fight again this year.
While he is as accomplished & a great champion, Inoue likely sitting idle until 2027 doesn’t make the sport better.
As you pointed out before, Oscar De La Hoya fought 5 times in 1997. #boxing

For context, Dan—you’re right, Joel did miss weight. Team De Los Santos had the option not to proceed but instead chose to take a percentage of Joel’s purse and enforce a rehydration clause. We (Team Iriarte) accepted those terms and Joel was in full compliance with the rehydration weight. Andy Foster from CSAC personally confirmed this with Team De Los Santos minutes before the fight and he still chose not to fight. @FSalazarBoxing @SteveKim323
