A few thoughts on this. 1) Pressure rates can be a OL stat, a QB stat, and they are almost always a combination of the two. It all works together. Daniels ranks 24th in time to throw. So if you are pressured 3 seconds after the snap it counts the same as being pressured immediately when a tackle whiffs. A high pressure rate doesn't implicitly mean the pass protection was bad. You have to look under the hood. 2) I do think the Commanders really struggled in pass protection against the 49ers. I also think they had problems with the Giants late in the game when NY started sending blitze. That's a worrisome trend. 3) ESPN ranks the Commanders 7th in pass block win rate. Different sites have different metrics but I've mostly seen them ranked pretty well in this data point. (They rank them 32nd in run block win rate which might match what your eyes are telling you about WSH's in ability to run the ball). 4) Commanders QB's have been pressured at the 10th highest rate in the NFL, which is heavily skewed toward 3rd down pressures. They rank 17th in pressure rate against on early downs. Again, are those quick pressures or pressures late in the down? 5) WSH doesn't not get blitzed very often, interestingly. 25th in blitz rate against this season (26th on early downs). I'm guessing teams worry about Daniels getting loose for a big play if they don't get him on the ground. Lastly: The offensive line can't play like it did against SF very often if Daniels is going to play at a high level, though. They've got to clean some of the things up they struggled with in that game for sure. Dan Quinn was clearly not happy with how they played.
