Recently I've volunteered as a citizen scientist with Adventure Scientists! I've collected scat, drilled holes into trees, collected leaves and twigs in the name of science! The information I collected helps with national and sometimes global conservation issues!
The pictures below are from my time as a research scientist working to ascertain the affects of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the fish communities of the MS Gulf Coast!

Often the little things in life inspire the most curiosity and wonder.
This seashell was found on a beach in Florida while holding it I began to wonder about the animal that created this shell and what it's life was like... I'm sure it was a constant adventure!

In my mind I'm already the #UltimateExplorer. I'm just waiting for the rest of the world to catch on!
I want to make the case that I am the #UltimateExplorer with this photo! I'd venture to say that I'm the only competitor to post a photo of myself with a dinosaur. Imagine the trek I had to go on to find this prehistoric creature!!!

Throughout my career I've been fortunate to wear many hats. This pic is from my time as a Wilderness Ranger. Here we were learning and practicing trail maintenance at Black Balsam Knob on the Art Loeb Trail in North Carolina!
