The Community Deserves Debates. Voters Deserve Answers. Libertarian candidates called for a Capital City debate featuring local state House and Senate candidates so our community could hear directly from everyone about the issues that affect our lives. We were told that the Democratic and Republican candidates declined to participate. Why are they unwilling to debate? Voters deserve the opportunity to hear candidates explain their positions, defend their voting records, and answer tough questions. A debate should be an opportunity to earn the public’s trust, not something to avoid. In my own race, my Republican opponent is 84 years old, and my Democratic incumbent has a voting record that raises serious questions, including a vote on legislation concerning whether certain convicted child sex offenders could work in settings involving children. These are important issues that deserve public discussion, transparency, and accountability. Sadly, too many voters head to the polls without researching their local candidates or understanding how their elected officials vote. We cannot make informed decisions if candidates refuse to show up and answer questions. And here is something every voter should understand: You do not have to vote for one political party from top to bottom. You can vote Libertarian for one office, Democrat for another, and Republican for another. Your vote belongs to you—not a political party. This is bigger than red versus blue. It is about accountability, transparency, and giving voters real choices. We need open debates. Our community deserves to hear from every candidate, compare their positions, and decide for themselves who has earned their vote. Voters deserve answers. Candidates should be willing to provide them. #Michigan #election2026 #Lansing #Debate #Truth #Transparency #Education #Community

DATA CENTERS: DEVELOPMENT WITHOUT ACCOUNTABILITY IS NOT PROGRESS. Data centers have been around for years, and technological growth is inevitable. But that raises an important question: Why are so many being proposed, so quickly, and without a comprehensive plan to protect our communities? Across Michigan, residents are finding out about data center projects after critical steps toward approval have already been taken. By the time the public becomes aware, decisions may be so far along that it becomes much harder for residents to have their voices heard. That is not transparency, and it is not how local government should operate. Cities and townships are now implementing moratoriums because they need time to understand the consequences. Six months to a year may not even be enough. We should not put an arbitrary deadline on getting this right. We should take the time necessary to protect our communities. Data centers can receive substantial tax incentives, consume enormous amounts of electricity and water, and create relatively few permanent jobs once construction is complete. So I have to ask: What are taxpayers and residents actually getting in return? I do not believe these projects should automatically receive tax breaks. Any proposed incentive must be justified by measurable, long-term benefits to the community. Before any approval, we need a transparent, comprehensive plan that addresses: ● Location: Prioritize appropriate existing industrial areas, away from residential neighborhoods and sensitive natural spaces. ● Water and the environment: Require credible assessments and enforceable protections for water supplies, water quality, wildlife, and surrounding ecosystems. ● Energy: Require a clear, independently reviewed plan for power generation and grid use, including who pays for infrastructure upgrades and how reliability for residents will be protected. ● Noise and property values: Establish enforceable noise limits, meaningful setbacks, independent impact assessments, and protections for neighboring property owners. ● Liability and accountability: Require developers to accept clear responsibility for damages, environmental impacts, infrastructure costs, and compliance with enforceable standards. ● Public transparency: Disclose project details, financial incentives, agreements, and potential conflicts of interest before decisions are made—not after the public has lost its opportunity to weigh in. We also need to address the potential for pay-to-play politics. When developers stand to gain billions from public approvals and tax incentives, residents deserve confidence that decisions are based on evidence and the public interest—not political contributions, private deals, or special access. Any allegations of improper influence should be investigated based on evidence, and relevant financial relationships should be disclosed. I do not oppose technology or economic development. I oppose rushing into major decisions without knowing the long-term costs and consequences. Residents should not have to choose between technological progress and protecting their homes, water, electricity, environment, and quality of life. Before a data center is approved, the community should have the information, independent analysis, and enforceable safeguards necessary to make an informed decision. People should be able to trust that their concerns have been taken seriously and that the developer—not unsuspecting taxpayers and residents—will be held accountable. Development should serve our communities, not the other way around. Transparency first. Accountability always. No blank checks for corporations. #Michigan #Lansing #DataCenters #Transparency #accountability #truth #follower #safety #animals #election2026 #love #JenniferLong #nature #puremichigan Max Libertarian Maximum Libertarian

🇺🇸 BE BOLD. BE BRAVE. VOTE GOLD. 🟡 Speak out before it’s too late. Your voice matters, your freedom matters, and your future matters. When party loyalty silences candidates and politics becomes more about protecting the establishment than serving the people, it’s time to consider a different path. The Libertarian Party stands for individual liberty, freedom of speech, and the right to question those in power. We believe elected officials should answer to the people—not party bosses, special interests, or political insiders. 🔑 We are the THIRD OPTION. Not Red. Not Blue. GOLD. If you live in the Greater Lansing area, consider voting Libertarian on November 3: 🟡 Jennifer Long — Michigan House of Representatives, District 77 🟡 Brandon Crabill — Michigan Senate, District 28 Don’t let party labels decide your future. Ask questions. Speak freely. Demand accountability. Stand up for your rights. BE BOLD. BE BRAVE. LP News (@LPNational), October edition, is amazing. In addition to write-ups for several fabulous candidates, it lists Libertarian candidates on the ballot this Tuesday--370 total. I interviewed those highlighted in green--63 (17%). My goal for next election is 25%+. If I missed anyone, apologies. It was an oversight.

🎙️ Let’s Talk Renters’ Rights! In this clip from my podcast interview, I discuss renters’ rights and the housing challenges affecting Lansing. Both landlords and tenants deserve fairness, but no one should feel trapped in a lease with constantly changing terms or fear losing their home without proper protections. 🏠 Everyone deserves to feel secure in the place they call home. Lansing’s homelessness and housing crisis is already too serious to allow housing insecurity to grow. We need fair policies that protect renters, respect property owners, and help keep people housed. It’s time to have these conversations and work toward real solutions for our community. #Michigan #love #puremichigan #election2026 #accountability #follower #ShareThisPost #LocalNews #RentersRights #LansingMI #HousingCrisis #HousingAffordability #MichiganPolitics #JenniferLong #District77

facebook.com/share/r/1HxMXFx… IMPORTANT PARENTS: I have broken down Michigan HB 5803. My opponent Emily Dievendorf voted NO. I would have voted YES. Let me know your thoughts. Michigan families deserve affordable child care AND safe environments for their children. HB 5803 raises important questions about private-school preschool licensing and expanding capacity for home-based child-care providers. As your representative, I would look beyond party lines, examine the facts, and ask: Will this make child care more accessible and affordable while maintaining the safety protections children deserve? I support reducing unnecessary red tape, demanding measurable results, and supporting responsible expansion so private-school and home-based preschool providers have a fairer opportunity to operate without unnecessary government barriers. If public schools can offer preschool programs, we should examine how private and home-based providers can operate under reasonable, consistent requirements that protect children without unnecessarily limiting access or choice. Parents deserve more options and the freedom to make informed decisions about their children’s education and care. Their rights must be respected, safety standards must remain in place, and providers must be accountable. The goal should be simple: more affordable options, more choices for families, fewer unnecessary government hurdles, and strong protections for our children. People over party. Common sense over politics. Accountability over blind votes. #Michigan #Lansing #Children #preschool #vote #community #localbusiness #election2026 #follower #love #education #ProtectOurChildren #accountability #PoliticalNews #votejenniferlong

🎃 HAPPY HALLOWEEN! 🎃 As our children enjoy Halloween, let’s remember something that should matter every single day: PROTECTING OUR CHILDREN. Before you vote, do your research. Know your candidates. Look beyond party labels and pay attention to their voting records. On HB 5425, Representative Emily Dievendorf voted among the minority of just nine legislators, while a bipartisan majority of Republicans and Democrats voted the other way on legislation concerning whether individuals convicted of certain child sex offenses should be permitted to work in settings primarily serving children. This raises an important question: Why did our District 77 representative vote this way? Our community deserves an explanation. Parents deserve transparency. And our elected officials must be accountable for their votes. I believe protecting children should always be a priority, regardless of political party. Let’s have an honest conversation about the TRUTH, THE FACTS, AND THE VOTING RECORD. Your voice matters. Your vote matters.
