I did a lil review for the hachiware zero 😏 Surface: Uncoated Control Surface Thickness: 2mm Glass Size: 490 x 420mm Edge: 2.5D Edge Design Base: Full Coverage Anti-Slip PU Base Accessory: Dot Skates Accessory Out of the box you get a matching metal art card, a nice grey cleaning cloth, and a set of 40 dot skates. The anemone skates included out of the box absolutely surprised me with how well they glide across the pad, and how buttery smooth they are on not just this pad but even some more textured pads. The first thing I noticed when testing the pad is how quiet the glide across the surface is with almost all of the skates I have in my possession. The control surface allowed me to break new highs in kovaaks while doing microshot tests and flick tests which is something I normally struggle with. Tracking does feel good albeit slower than what I was used to with the Dysphoria mio that has been on my desk. The surface of the pad is by far one of the smoothest I have ever felt against my skin, little to no texture and an extremely consistent controlled glide throughout. The surface is extremely easy to clean being an uncoated, very minimal texture surface; a quick wipe down should handle the dust and debris buildup. It also holds up very well if you do have a humid or hot environment. If you are someone that tends to stick to the surface of some pads, The Zero will still allow gliding without feeling stuck. Overall the pad was a very good experience, and it became one of my preferred control pads with how it performed. If I could have a perfect version of this pad it would just be a slightly taller pad. That being said, that is just preference and no fault to the pad for not being a square. This pad feels like it would be a good starting point if you were hopping from cloth to glass, as you do get the benefits of low initial friction and a little bit more speed than a cloth pad but with none of the scratchy sound or feel that could turn you away from glass.
