That was the ultimate "just wasn't our night" kind of game. Sports giveth, sports taketh away. Phenomenal run by #Illini basketball, creating some all-time memories. Not angry, a little sad... but mostly thankful. Going to wait until Monday evening to podcast.

I questioned if Brad Underwood was the guy to get you to a Final Four. I was dead wrong. Masterful job. Thank you to Underwood, the players, the staff, ALL of them, for delivering #Illini fans a lifetime memory. Currently Googling "how to eat a hat" to stay true to my word.

That is, without a doubt, the most impressive win of Brad Underwood's tenure. The #Illini were the better team from the jump, and controlled both ends of the court. Better coached, tougher, more talented . . . you name it. What a phenomenal effort from the tip.

🏀 IT'S GAMEDAY! 🏀 The #Illini have been road warriors all season. Houston IN Houston?! No problem. Vegas doesn't ALWAYS know, so I'm riding with Illinois using the boosts on @fanaticsbook 🔥

I'm still not convinced Brad can get this team over the hump. But, he's putting them in positions to do so, and Thursday is a great opportunity to do just that. Celebrating success and criticizing faults aren't mutually exclusive. That's fandom. #Illini

You bailed on this team after regular season losses. Claimed Brad can't get you over the hump. Been a constant BU hater any chance you see the opportunity. Even so much as saying you don't think he is capable of consistent success. Two sweet 16s in 3 seasons is consistency.

This is only the 7th time in my life #Illini basketball has made the Sweet 16. I’m almost 40. By that metric alone, it is a successful season. Most encouraging, though? Underwood’s team showed a sense of urgency this weekend. Shoot your shot in Houston. Let’s see what happens.
