We talk a lot about the trauma women experience during pregnancy and childbirth, as we should. But what about the men who walk every step of that journey with them?
What happens to the man who spends months watching the woman he loves go through pain he cannot take away? The man who lies awake at night, quietly checking if she is breathing comfortably, worrying about every unusual symptom, every hospital visit and every moment of uncertainty?
He may not carry the pregnancy in his body, but he carries a weight of fear, anxiety and helplessness that we rarely make room to discuss.
Pregnancy is often discussed from the woman’s perspective, understandably so. She carries the baby, experiences the physical changes and endures the pains. But for a man who is emotionally invested and actively present, the journey comes with its own fears, anxiety and silent struggles.
For months, you live with uncertainty. You may not feel the physical pain, but you watch someone you love go through different shades of discomfort and pain, sometimes without being able to do much to help. You worry about her health, the baby’s wellbeing and the possibility of things going wrong.
There are nights when you quietly check whether she’s breathing, whether she’s comfortable and whether everything is okay. Every hospital visit, every test result and every unusual symptom can trigger another wave of anxiety.
Then the baby arrives, and a new chapter of responsibility begins.
Your attention shifts from worrying about the mother alone to worrying about both mother and child. Sleep becomes a luxury. You wake up to every unusual sound, monitor every little reaction and sometimes find yourself wondering why the baby is crying, whether the baby is feeding enough or whether something is wrong.
For the first few months, even the smallest changes in your baby’s behaviour can make you anxious. You are learning fatherhood while trying to protect two people you love, often without knowing whether you are doing enough.
Yet, because men are expected to be strong, these experiences are rarely acknowledged. Many men simply keep going, carrying their fears quietly because they believe there is no room for their own vulnerability.
This is not an argument that a man’s experience is equal to the physical burden women carry during pregnancy and childbirth. It is simply a reminder that men can also be deeply affected by the journey.
We need to create room for conversations about fathers’ emotional wellbeing, too. Supporting a pregnant woman should not mean pretending that the man supporting her has no fears, anxieties or emotional needs.
Fatherhood begins long before the first cry of a newborn. And sometimes, the man who looks strong throughout the journey is also silently trying to hold himself together.
With your submission and reasoning, the only time you (ladies) can actually look good is when a man actually take care of you, the same man many of you hate
When will you guys be truly independent?
This is welcome development
Nigeria’s $760 million ginger industry was brought to its knees by fungal blight in 2023.
1: But the Tinubu’s administration is determined to bring it back to life.
2: The outbreak wiped out as much as 95% of ginger farms in key Kaduna LGAs, including Kachia, Kagarko and Jaba.
3: Production plunged from 751,473 metric tonnes to just 67,000 tonnes in 2023 before recovering partially to 159,600 tonnes.
4: The Gov of Kaduna state, HE @ubasanius deeply concerned by the loss of revenue for ginger farmers in his state, sought the President’s intervention.
5: Therefore, @officialABAT intervened through the National Ginger Revitalisation Programme, implemented via the MD @bankofagricng @ayosotinrin
5: Meanwhile, the @nabdanig has developed fungal-blight-resistant ginger planting materials to support the sector’s recovery.@mustapha837391
6: Nigeria was once the world’s third-largest ginger exporter after India and China and remains the second-largest producer after India.
7: We are not giving up on our ginger farmers. The lost glory will return, the industry will rise again, and those golden days will come back. The reason Tinubu won the APC presidential primary in 2022 was because I made a mistake by listening to late President Buhari. Buhari told me not to campaign and that he was going to announce me as his candidate. He told me that and put it in writing.

Why don most them reason this why ?
Are you using This same brain to operate on daily basis ? Or you’ve the real one by one side ?
This man needs to be called to order because I honestly don’t think he’s thinking straight anymore. Why should a man allow his ego to control him to this extent?
The woman did absolutely nothing wrong. She told you the truth: it is her father’s house, and she has every right to establish boundaries and decide how the property is used. You moved into her family’s property, so you should understand that you cannot dictate everything that happens under that roof.
I don’t understand why he would rather spend extra money renting another two-bedroom apartment for two years just to prove a point. Marriage is not a competition, and being a man doesn’t mean your ego must always be protected at the expense of common sense.
If this is what he has decided to turn his marriage into, then no wahala. I wish both of them the best.
Make his gbola Dey control m he will soon come and beg

This guy should channel his brilliance towards something more positive and learn to talk less.
His constant urge to have an opinion on everything, often based on bits and pieces of research, is beginning to make him sound like a Dot to me
Not everything requires your opinion, and not every subject is one you should assume you understand.
Equating the belief in accepting the entirety of the Qur’an to accepting an ordinary book written by an individual is a major intellectual blunder on your part.
You have "ibn" in your name, so as a Muslim you should know what scholars of Hadith and history call Al-Shawahid (corroborating witnesses).
No serious researcher treats a historian's book like the Quran where you either accept every single sentence blindly (we hear and we believe) or reject the whole book.
In historical methodology, you test each claim against independent corroborating evidence (Al-Shawahid).
When Samuel Johnson speculated on pages 6 to 7 that the Yoruba were Coptic Christians from Upper Egypt, that was his personal 19th-century theory. It fails the test of Al-Shawahid because linguistics (Niger-Congo language family), archaeology, and genetics all disprove it.
However, when Johnson recorded from the Arokin (Oyo royal court historians) on pages 32 to 33 that the 16-figure binary framework of Ifa came into Yorubaland from the North via Setilu the Nupe man, that account is backed by overwhelming independent Shawahid across multiple disciplines.
Let me mention some for you. You can get more yourself if you are willing to learn.
Go and check: Bernard Maupoil (1943) in La Géomancie à l'ancienne Côte des Esclaves,
OR
Professor Louis Brenner (2000) in Histories of Religion in Africa,
OR
Professor Wim van Binsbergen, whose comparative mathematical and historical studies proved the 16-figure binary matrix originated in the Abbasid/North African world before migrating south across the Sahara.
OR
The dated 12th-century Arabic manuscripts of Al-Zanati and Ibn Mahfuf, which physically preserve the exact 16-figure binary hardware centuries before its appearance in Oyo.
Even, Sheikh Adam Abdullah Al-Ilori in Asl Qaba'il Yoruba and Al-Islam fi Naijiriya, independently documented the Arabic/Islamic roots of the 16-figure divination grid in Yorubaland.
That is how serious intellectuals work. We do not worship one source; we cross-examine sources using Al-Shawahid.
Johnson's Coptic theory has zero corroboration. However, his record of the binary system arriving from the North is corroborated by manuscripts, mathematics, anthropology, and West African scholars.
He asked a question from his religious point of view, yet many people, including some Muslims, have so much to say about matters they barely understand.
The difference is simple Islam does not judge religious matters based on personal assumptions or convenience,
but on its established doctrines and teachings.
A sincere Muslim does not embrace only the teachings that suit his interests while rejecting those that challenge his desires. You cannot practise Islam selectively and claim to uphold its principles wholeheartedly
Allahul-Musta'aan
Sometimes, I sit back and wonder what will become of my immediate and extended family when my father is no longer with us. Honestly, the thought scares me more than I can explain.
My father’s house is more than just a home; it is our family’s correctional centre, a refuge, a peacekeeping ground and a place where broken relationships are mended. Whenever there is a disagreement or misunderstanding within the family, everyone knows where to turn. His home becomes the meeting point where issues are discussed, differences are settled and lasting solutions are found. Some of my nieces and nephews even find shelter in his home whenever things become unbearable in their own homes.
He has somehow become the pillar holding the family together, the voice of wisdom in moments of confusion, the mediator when tempers rise and the safe haven everyone can run to when family becomes difficult.
And sometimes, I wonder, Who will take up this responsibility when he is gone? Who will have the patience to listen to everyone’s grievances? Who will bring everyone together when misunderstandings threaten to tear us apart? Where will everyone run to when there is no longer that familiar home where every problem seems to have a solution?
Perhaps what frightens me most is not just the thought of losing my father, but the possibility of losing the unity, love and sense of belonging that his presence has sustained for so many years.
It is a painful thought because I know that fathers like him do not just raise children, they hold generations together.
May Allah grant him long life, sound health and many more years to witness the fruits of the family he has worked so hard to keep together. Ameen.
Just imagine if this persons was a Muslim (iman)
See the way they’re trying so hard to re-write history
