The Senate map is getting uglier for Republicans. Nebraska is starting to slip from their column. Democrat James Talarico is pulling further ahead of Ken Paxton in Texas. The forecast now puts Democrats at 51 seats and Republicans at 49. Those are projected seats, not election results. But 51 would give Democrats control without relying on the vice president to break a tie. With the November 3 midterms days away, Republicans are having to fight for ground they expected to hold.
