Some thoughts on the $GOOGL situation, people are either full doomer or easiest deep value play since $META. It’s somewhere in between, Alphabet can escalate ad pricing & frequency for quite a while until cracks show, even when certain KPI’s decline/are flat. Reminds me of $PM.

I’m skeptical about $PDD, even with 0% tariffs, the de minimis loophole got closed anyway, and their high growth runway with high churn is not sustainable imo.

GDP was negative because of only two components: - Trade/Imports subtracted 4.83% on tariff frontrunning - Government subtracted 0.25%, first negative govt "contribution" since 2022

paid click growth was only 2% YoY in 1Q'25 which is the lowest I have ever seen. Search revenue growth was largely held up by cost per click which increased by 7% YoY. Search related concern is unlikely to go away anytime soon.

two things I thought were interesting from $GOOG 1Q'25: 1. both Google Cloud and AWS grew at the same rate when they had $12 Bn quarterly revenue! 2. Google Services reported 30% operating margin when ChatGPT was released. They just reported 42% operating margin.
