âWhy would Tulane want to be in the real playoff if they arenât gonna win the national championship?!?â
idk directly increasing brand visibility of the school seems like a good thing with measurable impact on admissions
(also double the NIL budget if this is true)
Tulane marketers are promoting a 100% increase in applications for the 2031, pointing to the Green Waveâs appearance in the College Football Playoff as one of the influences for it.

The real story of the â40 G6 coaches want a separate playoffâ is that the 40 teams who only survive off of SEC buy game shellackings and $700K TV deals to play on Tuesday nights in empty stadiums shouldnât be in the FBS
I donât even have a theory of where we go from here.
My perception is that this team was built to run the ball. We know the RB room has quality players.
Being completely stuck down to down (especially on early downs) is damning, especially against a defense weaker in that area.
No disrespect to UTSA who beat the Wave conclusively.
But theyâre 28th worst in EPA as a rush defense.
Tulane puts up 67 yards on the ground, 3.0 YPC with the benefit of a garbage time explosive.
Game flow aside, why canât we run the football?
So more often than not, Tulane is behind schedule every first down. That made sense with what we have seen + especially when defenses could key on the QB deficiencies.
But then Trace enters the picture and looks competitive as a passer
The inefficiency on the ground gets worse?
Looking at the data and thinking about what weâre seeing with Tulane Football.
IDK if thereâs a more glaring problem right now than the drop off for the Wave when theyâre in Standard Downs (like a 1st and 10, 2nd a 6).
#135 this year (almost last in FBS) and a 38% success rate.
Pumpkin Guy checks in:
It was all trick and no treat for Tulane last night. đđ #section119 #fireWillHall
Tulane is out of the top 100 (#101) in SP+ ⊠behind teams like Arkansas State, Rutgers, and Wyoming.
SP+ is updated!
Rising: LSU, Kentucky, UTSA, ULM!
Falling: The Big 12, Sac State, UMass :(

uncompetitive showing in front of the smallest crowd in four seasons.
real emotional low tonight out there.
Trace Johnson is the guy
15-24 with 196 yards in the first half. Extended plays with his feet. Positive development.
ftw retweeted
Itâs #Rising, baby.
every single week someone on here: can you believe Charlotte at UAB is half full for a game starting after people leave work?!
Yes. Yes I can believe that
Weekday games are a product for the TV audience and not the fans and shaming teams for low attendance at kickoff is a tired trope
Reason #1 why I'm excited for JMU to join the conference. More active crowds.
This is sad for one of the "Top programs in the conference"
Weekday or not. The "top program" should always have a decent crowd.
