went to the infamous out of touch CA grocery store. talked to local and her dog, who suddenly sat outside.
“probably smells the chicken, I’d reckon?”
“haha no, she just wants the treats they give her sometimes.”
“I understand. I’ve spent my whole life in similar pursuits.”

meanwhile, the kid they had with them was picking oak galls off the road and putting them in her mouth
