It’s hard to know who you’re interacting with in this space. When one thinks they’re dealing with artists, collectors, donors or supporters in the community, they may actually be dealing with shady types, even criminals. That said, I want to make something very clear. 🧵👇🏽

I do not knowingly deal with shady types and criminals. I also do not knowingly support racism, sexism, ageism, assault, aggression or violence, and I don’t stand by those who do. ‘Knowingly’ is used twice here because as I said, it’s hard to know who you’re dealing with. 🧵👇🏽

So if you know something I don’t know, or have proof someone isn’t who they seem, PLEASE tell me. If you’re not comfortable speaking to me, then tell someone who will tell others. The sooner we know where the weeds are, the sooner we can stop them from growing in our garden.

STORY TIME In the past, I’ve shot couples that were comfortable in front of my lens because they were intimate, as well as models who were portraying couples that were intimate. This particular photoshoot presented me with a tiny bit of a challenge however. 🧵👇🏽

Our lives moved forward shortly thereafter. I began teaching elsewhere and we eventually fell out of touch. By chance, many months later, I came to find out that after the shoot, they had actually begun dating, and shortly after that, had gotten engaged to be wed. 🧵👇🏽

Now, years later, I check in on their lives from time to time on social media. They are married, have children, and things seem to be going splendidly. Every now and then I smile to myself thinking about that day, wondering if perhaps my camera and I might’ve helped a bit. 🖤🤍

When I entered this space in 2021, I hoped I'd meet another artist or two. I didn't think I'd find a global community of friends. When I talk about my life in NFTs, I don't tell folks about the chaos of crypto, fame, money, scams or memes. I talk about you guys. Happy Friday.
