Amazing lol
Apparently this year, Canadian Tire is selling a Christmas Ornament version of the Canadian Tire bag? Imagine being so iconic that something you were seen casually carrying not only sells out but gets turned into a Christmas Ornament. 😭😭😭 The Hudson Williams Effect is real!

Wait so they started this stupid trade war but if we don’t cave to their demands we will be blamed if they lose an election? These idiots have such terrible delusions of grandeur. Obligatory: punt Hoekstra ASAP.

My favorite things about her face are all gone. Totally her choice of course but the overall trend is sad.
It’s sad to think features like these have survived centuries, thousands of years of human history. Hooded eyes, aquiline noses, strong eyebrows, round cheeks, thinner lips, tall, larger built, square jaws, the very faces our mothers, our grandmothers carried, all of it stretching back to queens and peasants alike. Features that have survived it all, seen it all, and all for you to be told now — well it’s just not attractive. Imagine inheriting a face shaped by the entirety of human history, imagine being blessed with a beauty that has survived the many rises and falls of humanity, only to be told you now have to give it all up to the vanities of this generation. What worth is beauty without any history? What worth is beauty without meaning? What worth is beauty when it stops being something we recognize and instead becomes just something we manufacture?

Awesome. Nothing like building ion segregation rather than fixing the public system. Why is governing so hard for this government?
Oh fun! Alberta is spending 25.8 million to build new school buildings for schools that are either religious or religious adjacent… Including one is Sylvan lake. Whose student body is made up of almost 3/4 home schooled kids it supports the home schooling of.

It’s been a full year since I quit my job without a replacement position lined up. And it wasn’t the end of the world! So happy with how things turned out. 🥳

Happy for this but what an embarrassment for Canada that it’s been that long.

Christian nationalists are a plague.
With the separatist petition effort having failed, attention is now shifting to another core part of Premier Danielle Smith’s political base: Christian nationalists. These groups have grown increasingly organized across rural Alberta and, in many cases, into urban centres. Their rhetoric frequently targets people who differ from them—immigrants, First Nations peoples, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) communities, those labelled “woke,” and women seeking reproductive healthcare. What began as echo chambers has translated into coordinated political pressure. The same ideological networks have also aligned with segments of the American-influenced oil and gas industry that prioritize expanded production and profits, often at the expense of water, land, air quality, and existing rights and protections. The Premier’s earlier remark that “Jesus would have approved of the West Coast pipeline” illustrated how religious framing is being used to advance energy projects. The pattern is not unique to Alberta. Similar coalitions of religious conservatism and fossil-fuel interests have long shaped politics in places like Texas, where the results for public services, minority rights, and environmental regulation are well documented. Albertans should watch closely how this base continues to influence government priorities now that the separation question has receded. #StayingInCanada #FightForAllAlbertans #ProudCanadianAlbertan

Wow that’s an insane number. Thank you, Indigenous neighbors!
An average of 98.4% Indigenous natives voted to remain in Canada from across ten polling locations. A historical high turnout. Thank you! 👍 ALBERTANS ARE PROUD CANADIANS 🇨🇦

Proud of you for getting out to vote, Alberta. Even if some of the things voted on are questionable at best.
It's official. More votes were counted in Alberta's referendum than in any other vote in Canadian history, including all federal elections.

Tonight, for your delectation, we present not fashion, but art. This ivory couture ball gown by Balmain is hand-embroidered with roses and gold motifs by the famous “petites mains” of Paris. Photographed for Vogue in 1953.
