Yeah, never die with bombs in stock. That's why you should also practice both routes, because spending your bombs sooner than expected means you'll eventually have to dodge sections you were planning to bomb.

Another great day at Arcade Club in Bury, this time with some shmup buddies too. Managed to clear DFK & Dariusburst but everything else eluded me, but still had fun seeing lots of stage 3s 😅 Nice to see they’ve added sdoj to the roster too 🤘

Just got my one credit clear of Biomechanical Toy. Even managed to beat dumplechan's score despite missing some secret items here and there. Total eurojank but it had its moments and I actually liked the euro collect a-thon scoring because some of it requires proper routing.

Robust practice modes do everything continues do but better. There is just no space for then to exist when we own the games. They are very much a product of a certain context and economic model

Even back in the mid/late 80’s when continuing started to be a thing I instinctively didn’t do it. Partly because it just felt wrong, and partly because I didn’t want to waste my money and inevitably dying quicker than I would’ve doing a full restart.

This how you should be engaging with an Arcade game, stop importing your "grinding" mindset from other game styles, all you will end up with is resentment towards the game

If you are working on a clear, seek to play at least 30 min a day, every day (either full run attempts or practicing sections) 30 min of brain reinforcement >>> 3 hours once per week
