Will you be among the thousands of people heading to the Glengarry Highland Games in Maxville this weekend? Will you be camping on site or in the area?
If so, please ensure your trailer or RV is road worthy and in good condition. Games organizers and the SD&G OPP want to ensure everyone's safety. Officers will be checking on all types of vehicles for hazards and mechanical defects that could pose a danger.
Enjoy the games, try some haggis, and make sure you get there and back home safely. ^bd

Hanoverhill Starbuck was a Canadian breeding bull with exceptional genetics.
During his life, he sired over 200,000 cows in dozens of countries.
He was also one of the first animals cloned for commercial purposes and today has 3.5 million descendants.
This is his story.

On this day in 1857, my favourite historical figure, David Thompson, died in Montreal.
One of the greatest land geographers in history, he mapped 4.9 million sq-km of North America.
Let's explore his life :)

ALT The photo is a black-and-white illustration depicting a scene of early surveying or exploration. In the foreground, a man is seated on the ground, deeply engrossed in using a surveying instrument, likely a theodolite or similar device, to measure angles or directions. He is dressed in period clothing, suggesting a historical setting. Around him are various tools and equipment, including a notebook, a triangular frame, and what appears to be a compass or another surveying tool. The background features a picturesque landscape with mountains, a lake or river, and a forested area. There are also several tipi-like structures, indicating a possible Native American encampment, and a few figures in the distance, one of whom seems to be on horseback.

Deanna and I would like to express our sincere condolences on learning of the passing of Burnbrae Farms co-founder Joe Hudson. Joe changed the face of egg farming in Canada. Joe was a visionary and a legend in agricultural circles. I’m proud to have known him and his amazing family since my teens. Our prayers are with his family at this difficult time. Please keep the Hudson Family and Burnbrae Farms in your thoughts. Rest in Peace Joe
