First Development Resources Returns to Lander West for Stage II Gold Drilling

To fill gaps in historical sampling and build a more consistent dataset for gold and associated elements across the wider target area.

At Lander West in Australia’s Northern Territory, FDR is currently undertaking a soil sampling programme designed to improve our understanding of the wider gold potential.
So what does soil sampling involve, what are we looking for, and how does it contribute to our broader exploration strategy? 👇

🧪 Why look for elements other than gold?
Gold isn’t always the only clue to a potential gold system.
Geologists also analyse pathfinder elements, including arsenic and antimony, which can sometimes occur alongside gold mineralisation.
These elements can provide valuable information about the geological processes responsible for forming a mineralised system.
📊 What should investors look for when results are reported?
It’s not necessarily about finding the highest gold value in an individual sample.
Of greater interest are coherent patterns of anomalous results, particularly where they align with favourable geological structures, magnetic features or previous drilling evidence.
Importantly, a soil anomaly is not proof of an economic gold deposit. It is an exploration indicator that can help guide further investigation.
⛏️ The bigger picture | Why does this matter for FDR investors?
Early-stage gold exploration is about progressively reducing geological uncertainty.
Drilling provides direct geological information from specific locations beneath the surface.
Soil sampling can help identify geochemical patterns across a much wider area.
Combined with geological mapping and geophysical surveys, these techniques help build a clearer understanding of a potentially mineralised system.
At Lander West, FDR is using a systematic exploration approach to investigate both the gold mineralisation already identified and the potential for additional mineralised areas across the wider project.
