Dear Prime Minister: Please don’t involve us further in the illegal US/Israel war on Iran: work for peace, and for relief of hardship by refugees, populations under fire. @AlboMP @SenatorWong @RichardMarlesMP @AngusTaylorMP @Mon4Kooyong

Australia and 27 countries have an urgent message: the war in Gaza must end now.
The humanitarian situation is catastrophic. Together with partners, we condemn Israel’s denial of aid and the killing of civilians seeking to access water and food.

War does not solve problems; on the contrary, it amplifies them and inflicts deep wounds on the history of peoples, which take generations to heal. No armed victory can compensate for the pain of mothers, the fear of children, or stolen futures. May diplomacy silence the weapons! May nations chart their futures with works of peace, not with violence and bloodstained conflicts!
Cross your fingers, Australia, and hope the AUKUS deal collapses japantimes.co.jp/commentary/…
Thanks @SenatorWong: justice demands full and immediate resumption of aid into Gaza and allowing UN and others to do their job, a ceasefire and hostage deal, and, as the UK, France and Canada have called for, an end to Israel's "egregious" military operations. #Gaza

Australia is part of the international call on Israel to allow the full and immediate resumption of aid into Gaza.
Israel must enable UN and humanitarian organisations to do their life saving work.
We urge all parties to return to a ceasefire and hostage deal.

Civilians are still suffering and dying in Gaza. DAys ago France, Germany and the UK called on Israel to restore water and electricity, and ensure access to medical care. @SenatorWong supported this. The cries of the people must not be ignored.

The #DeathPenalty is always inadmissible, because it attacks the inviolability and dignity of the person. I appeal for its abolition in all countries of the world. We must not forget that a person can repent and change, even up until the very last moment of their life.
Good news that UK to scrap their plan to deport refugees to Rwanda. Surely it’s time for an Australian Labor government to review its offshoring policy @AlboMP @andrewjgiles @ClareONeilMP
Notwithstanding the heinous attacks on Israeli citizens, the Israeli Government must heed the cries of the oppressed for a ceasefire and access for assistance in Gaza. The release of all hostages and the resumption of UNWRA funding also remain pressing @CaritasAust @SenatorWong

The call for a ceasefire is a moral cry for humanity to find another way to achieve justice, security and peace for Israelis and Palestinians.
The bloodshed must cease, hostages must be released, and aid must reach those in dire need.
In Christ’s name, we cry from our hearts: “No more. This killing must stop.”

We remain horrified by the ongoing situation in Gaza and condemn the denigration of human dignity. All violence must end now. A way forward that emphasises dignity and human rights must be found.
Human suffering must stop.

Terrorism and extremism do not help to reach a solution to the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians, but fuel hatred, violence, revenge, and only cause each to other suffer. The Middle East need a peace built on dialogue and the courage of fraternity.

Few have said it as well as Bob Dylan: "Come you masters of war. You that build all the guns. You that build the death planes. You that build the big bombs. You that hide behind walls. You that hide behind desks. I just want you to know I can see through your masks...Let me ask you one question. Is your money that good? Will it buy you forgiveness, do you think that it could? I think you will find, when your death takes its toll, all the money you made will never buy back your soul." Happy 82nd birthday, Bob!
