Quarterback Alex Smith says his life was completely changed by his experience in rehab with servicemen and women who lost limbs overseas. Smith says he was bitter about life after suffering a grotesque leg injury. It wasn't until he rehabbed with military amputees that his mindset completely changed. "I was very bitter for a long time in my rehab process." "I got this thing called the Secretary of Defense designation... I got access to military medical care." Smith says when he looked around at all the servicemen and women who had severe injuries, his outlook completely changed. "There's like double amputees, there's triple amputees, there's terrible burn victims in there. And nobody's hiding behind their scars." "... it was like the only place in the world where those guys were egging me on and like goading me to do more..." "Fast forward 2 years later... come back and lace up cleats again and put on a helmet and go play." Awesome story. Vid: @BussinWTB
