Night allowances for officials on particular donor-funded projects are rising by up to 154%. Mbu the rates date from 2018 and costs are up. Fair.
But last week, the rest of us were told to cut spaghetti from the menu and move less. Fair adjustment, or bad timing?
Eh UNEB what did you just do?

Kampala Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere shares a poignant reflection on his conversation with the late Charles Matovu, former Busiro County MP.
Matovu, who was actively challenging the election victory of Kenan Opio, passed away on Thursday night. According to his family, doctors discovered brain bleeding after he fell suddenly ill, but he passed away before surgery could be performed.

X SPACE🎙️| : #RIPMatovu, Section 86 and Busiro South, Petition Debate
Should a public question about military interference in elections abate because the petitioner died?
The legal battle involving Hon. Charles Matovu and Hon. Kenan Opio concerning the Busiro South constituency came to an abrupt end on 22 October 2026 due to the sudden death of the petitioner, former MP Charles Matovu.
We vow to challenge Section 86 of the Parliamentary Elections Act which provides that an election petition abates (ends) on the death of the sole petitioner.
On Monday, 26 October 2026, at 7pm, we will discuss if Section 86 is unconstitutional and therefore void under Article 2.

After appeals to the Principal Judge for reallocation, Sam Mugumya’s second bail application was moved from 17th Nov to today albeit before the same Judge, Kinobe. The state has already responded again, without any shame, denying having him in his custody or knowing his whereabout as the police officers illegally detaining and threatening @AloikinOpoloje told her! #FreeSamMugumya #JusticeForSamMugumya

What is the metadata relationship between Mbalasa Lutaaya Emma and Opio Kenan?
How are they connected to the sudden death of Hon. Matovu? Is it not paramount that we prove with science if they had a hand in his death or not!

Jesus did not simply perform his miracles on unknown strangers that appeared to him in the church without being known by the congregations. Almost in all accounts of his miracles, although he demanded faith of those he healed, the miracles were in such a way that even doubters could verify.
When he raises Lazarus from the dead, he goes for a dead person that was known by all to be dead and already stinking. He went there four days after his death and burial, when no one could doubt that we was dead. He asked them to open the grave themselves, and commanded him to rise.
When he heals a blind man, he randomly identifies a KNOWN blind man in the crowd and perform the miracle before all. Just like one would heal Buchaman, not a ‘lame man’ who only appears on that day in church unseen by all before.
When he turned water into wine, it was at a public wedding, and waited until the wine they had was finished. He asked them to bring water, and the miracle was performed there before all. And they drunk the wine to verify. It was the same case for the fish and bread he multiplied.
When Thomas doubted his resurrection, he castigated his lack of faith, but still let him place his finger on his wound to prove. He didn’t end at scolding him.
That is why, not many of his detractors would accuse him of faking miracles. Instead, they could only accuse him of using other powers (Beelzebub). The miracles were obvious. He didn’t have to shout himself hoarse explaining them to doubters, or even curse those who challenged him. Even the last time he was challenged by a thief while on the cross (to save himself), he proved to the thief soon after.
It is crooks (Pharisees and Sadducees) that respond with guilty anger instead of proof - where the intent is to simply silence those who question them.

I am really glad that despite our political differences, this one time memebers of @NUP_Ug and @NRMOnline agree with civil society that abduction is wrong and should end! I also agree with them that the officers that participated in this must be held accountable! This is just not a conversation pushed on the floor of parliament by @JoelSsenyonyi and opposition.
The photo attached is of the police officer that introduced himself as part of CMI. @OfwonoOpondo here is the man if you really want him to be held accountable.

Older Persons Representative (Eastern) Ofwono Opondo, an NRM MP, asked whether it is now “the new law of the NRM” to lure a suspect to a police station for the military to arrest. He was citing activist Praise @AloikinOpoloje account that people who said they were from CMI took her and beat her in a van.
He asked Parliament to demand an explanation from the Minister of Defence, the Attorney General and the Minister of Internal Affairs.
