And let me try with colored hands
To ship it off to you
Across the land
I'll do the best I can

My phone is freezing up and shutting down randomly, so if I disappear for a bit, that's why 🙄 may have to go to the phone store.

The Veil begins to thin as we approach Samhain. It was dark and mysterious on Glastonbury Tor this morning setting the mood nicely.
We gotta save Bruiser 🥹💗
Bruiser could use a cup of coffee if anyone would consider helping him out. He is pretty anemic. The doctor isn’t sure what’s going on but words like cancer were thrown around. I have some meds to give him. He will get rechecked in 2 weeks. buymeacoffee.com/bruiserthec…

These are called Groomer's Helpers. If a dog is acting wild and moving around a lot while it's being groomed you attach it to their lead so they can't move a lot.
Do you know what they're called in China?
Hamburger Helper.

Saturated fat was supposed to clog your arteries. A brand new randomized trial just put that to the test.
Researchers in Norway assigned 193 adults with obesity to one of three diets for up to 2 years. One was low-carb with about 30% of energy from saturated fat. That's 3 times the 10% cap in the Dietary Guidelines. The other two were higher-carb, guideline-style diets.
On the high saturated fat diet, triglycerides dropped 20 to 35% and HDL rose 5 to 18%. On the higher-carb diets those stayed fairly flat.
LDL went up 5 to 10%, mostly the large, buoyant particles. ApoB did not go up significantly. Small dense LDL did not go up significantly. And CT scans at 12 months showed no difference in coronary artery calcium between the diets.
The lead researcher said the study "challenges the contention that a higher intake of saturated fat has an inherent negative impact of overall disease risk."

Wow, he looks so sorry, we should totally just let him out on bail. I'm sure he won't do it again 🫶🏻
A 15 year old girl bravely fought back against her captor, hitting him with a fire extinguisher to escape a basement apartment in Northwest Baltimore after being stabbed all over.
The incident began on Thursday, October 22, 2026, when the teenager accepted a ride from 23 year old Abubakarr Barrie, who was operating an unlicensed rideshare vehicle (locally known as a "hack").
The victim requested a ride to a local carryout restaurant. Instead, Barrie drove in the opposite direction, put her in a tight headlock when she questioned him, and forced her into his basement residence on Garrison Boulevard.
Inside the basement, Barrie stripped the girl of her clothing, told her not to scream, and began stabbing her repeatedly across her chest, back, ribs, shoulder, and ear.
The victim fought for her life by scratching and clawing at her attacker. She managed to grab a fire extinguisher, struck Barrie with it, and broke free from his grasp.
The girl fled the house naked, shoeless, and bleeding heavily. She ran for about 5 minutes through the neighborhood, knocking on doors until a resident on Belle Avenue took her in, called 911, and contacted her mother.
She was treated for stab wounds and a collapsed lung.
This POS was arrested on Saturday, October 24.

The end is near. They are fucking up chocolate.
This is a declaration of war
Ew.
Reese's Pieces have no chocolate in them. The peanuts had their oil pressed out and a cheaper fat put back in.
Sugar is first, then partially defatted peanuts, then hydrogenated palm kernel and soybean oil, then corn syrup solids. Everything after that is 2% or less, and it's the dyes, the glaze, some vanillin and a little milk. There's no cocoa anywhere.
Partially defatted just means the peanuts went through a press. The peanut oil comes out one side and gets sold as peanut oil. What's left is a dry peanut flour, and that's what the center is made from, because flour holds a shape in a panning drum and doesn't go rancid. Then they put fat back in, and the fat they picked is hydrogenated palm kernel oil, which is solid at room temperature and costs less than peanut oil. You can see the swap on the panel. 38 pieces have 6 g of fat and all 6 are saturated. Peanut oil is mostly unsaturated, so that number isn't the peanut.
The shell is sugar with 4 dyes and a coat of shellac.

So this is a very real thing, and 3 bison ranches in Mexico have reached out to me to help them be able to process bison meat as I am the closest NBA rep to Mexico
...it is currently illegal in Mexico to kill a bison and process it for meat, our NBA delegation is meeting with the Mexican gvmt soon about this.
Bison Return to Northern Mexico to Help Restore Desert Grasslands
American bison returned to El Santuario reserve in Coahuila, Mexico, in November 2025 as part of an effort to restore native grasslands. Officials announced the arrival of 44 animals from Rancho El Uno in Chihuahua’s Janos Biosphere Reserve, expanding a conservation herd into another part of its historic range. Bison can help shape grassland ecosystems through grazing, nutrient cycling and disturbance of the soil, supporting conditions for native vegetation. The project brings together government agencies, conservation organizations and the N’dee/N’nee/Ndé Indigenous nation. However, descriptions of a “dead desert” rapidly healing exaggerate what has been demonstrated: this is a living desert ecosystem, and the announcement does not establish landscape-wide recovery within months. The meaningful achievement is the animals’ return after a long local absence, backed by a restoration effort whose results will require sustained management and monitoring.
