Great reporting by @nytimes. The US Commerce Dept was approving sales of Nvidia chips to companies in China which either did not exist, were on the sanctions list, and/or had ties to China's military. A brief visit by journalists in China found that two of the offices were just empty shells.
Was Jensen Huang a "victim" of a honey trap or was he just trying to make as much money as possible? Was his $25 million donation to Trump's ballroom the price of pay to play? Russian security forces launch crackdown on alternative youth and “alt girls”
A heavy-handed police raid involving mass arrests took place in Moscow’s Kitay-Gorod district, a popular gathering spot for young people from alternative subcultures.
Between 100 and 300 people were detained, including minors. Those old enough to serve were handed military draft notices and forced to sign contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defence.
Detainees reported being beaten and forced to wait for hours without access to water or toilets. Neither the children nor their parents were given any explanation for what was happening.
Only after the story attracted widespread media attention did police issue a brief statement, describing the raid as “preventive measures”.

Just got a Starlink service fee increase notice. I'm a new customer north of Fairbanks, Alaska. Exhausted every other high-speed internet option. Starlink was the only choice. Paid the $1,500 activation fee. Now they're raising the monthly rate within a few months. Absurd. Contractually allowed or not, this is horrible customer service for people with no alternatives. @Starlink

I got @Starlink last week for $130 a month. I spent a full day getting it installed and all my devices working with it. I get an email less than a week later saying my plan is increasing to $156. You're telling me you offer me a plan, make me drill holes in my home, and then raise the price less than a week later? Even Comcast doesn't do that. I have options luckily, but this is so disappointing.
