Milton Friedman: “Economists don’t know much, but there’s one thing we know very, very well—and that’s how to produce shortages.” “You want a shortage of housing in New York City? Set a maximum price on rent, and you will have a shortage of housing.”

I'm sorry but any right-winger telling you to vote Democrat to stick it to the Republicans is a fucking idiot who has no sense of the world. Leave America for a bit and see the state of the right-wing outside of America. In England they're arresting people every single day for right-wing speech and activism. In France they banned Marine Le Pen from running for president while she was leading the polls on a bogus excuse. They just banned Martin Sellner from entering the country for literally no reason & shut down conferences on Remigration. In Romania they annulled an entire presidential election because the wrong candidate won the first round, then barred him from running again. In Germany the government's domestic intelligence agency labeled the AfD "extremist," one of the country's biggest parties and literally have active spies in their party. In Brazil they convicted Jair Bolsonaro for doing NOthing and ordered his son, a sitting Senator, to surrender his passports. He had to flee to Miami. In Poland, police took over the constitutional court and government-backed judges are now running it. The president calls it a coup. That's what the Left does when it has power and nobody stops it. The Republican Party is the only thing standing between you and that. They’re imperfect. They don’t always get the job done, but voting for the Left is NEVER the answer.

And lot of these fixed secondary problems. Kerosene being cheaper meant no more need for massive amounts of whaling as an example.

Name one? How about a few? Rockefeller lowered the cost of kerosene through efficient refining and distribution. Ford made automobiles affordable through mass production. Carnegie reduced steel production costs through industrial innovation. Walton lowered retail prices through bulk purchasing and efficient logistics. Dell made computers cheaper by eliminating retail intermediaries. Kamprad made furniture affordable through flat-pack manufacturing and distribution. Bezos intensified retail competition through Amazon. Koum made international messaging practically free through WhatsApp. Page and Brin made search, navigation, email, and translation available without direct charges. And that's barely scratching the surface. In fact, it would be considerably more challenging to find a billionaire who earned their fortune through voluntary trade without lowering costs, improving quality, increasing productivity, or making something more accessible. That's how fortunes are generally made in competitive markets. You create value for others, and the more people you serve, the greater your potential reward. You don't even have to buy from these businesses to benefit. Their competitors must improve their offerings or risk losing customers. These clout chasers destroy their credibility daily without so much as flinching. They enjoy the accumulated benefits of capitalist innovation while confidently demanding evidence that any of it ever happened. The economic illiteracy would be impressive if it weren't so commonplace.
Name one time a billionaire has lowered your bills

Wholesale prices, yes. A solar panel in a field is cheap. Connecting that panel to the grid and transmitting that power is not. But you know you aren't arguing the same point, you do it because your ideology can't survive fair debate. So you muddy the water

"You can cancel an election and ban the winner from running (Romania), you can ban your opponents from ever running again (Hungary), you can threaten to ban the main opposition party and subject it to relentless investigations by the secret police (Germany), you can threaten a ban on the leading presidential candidate and make them wear an ankle monitor (France), every member of your circle can be investigated for corruption (Spain), you can try and cancel local elections because you will lose them (Britain), and you can storm the constitutional court with riot police because you want to control it (Poland). You can just do all these things. The secret is you just have to be on the right side of the European Commission." Writer: Jacob Reynolds

Polish MEP Dominik Tarczyński is explaining what is happening right now at Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal, calling it nothing less than a COUP D’ÉTAT! “In Poland, we have a liberal-left government led by Donald Tusk, who is the Prime Minister. What is happening right now with the Constitutional Tribunal is that they want to take it over and fill it with their own people. Why? Because they want to get rid of the Polish currency, bring us into the eurozone, and eliminate our secure borders. They are being pushed by the Germans, who want to spread the burden of illegal migration and send migrants to Poland. First of all, the Polish złoty is our constitutionally protected currency. They have to change the Constitution to replace it, and without the Constitutional Tribunal, they cannot do that. So, number one, they want to get rid of our currency and force us to adopt the euro and join the eurozone. Then they want to take our gold reserves, the largest in the European Union, to Frankfurt, to the European Central Bank, which is a German-based institution. They also want to open our borders. And they want to make sure that when they lose the next elections, which are coming next year, the Constitutional Tribunal will be unable to do anything to stop their actions or reverse what they have done. There are many more reasons, but I want you to understand one thing: they are under German influence. They are globalists, and we are fighting not just for Poland, but for Europe. Be like Poland. Be strong. Our nation is strong, and we are going to win this fight!”

Poland was running perfectly and had protected its citizens from the illegal migrant onslaught. So, naturally, the EU considered this a large enough threat to ... back a coup? There's really no getting along with such people.
🚨🇵🇱COUP UNDERWAY IN POLAND! PM Donald Tusk has just sent police to storm Constitutional Tribunal building in Warsaw in the middle of the night. Tusk waited until President Karol Nawrocki left the country before ordering the police takeover. Nawrocki was halfway to Senegal when he abruptly turned his plane around and rushed back to Poland to confront the unfolding crisis. The EU, which backs Donald Tusk, has STILL NOT issued a statement on this unprecedented crisis or condemned the attempted coup.

🇵🇱 ALL EYES ON POLAND! Donald Tusk’s government has moved to OUST the country’s top constitutional court judges, with police deployed to the court. He calls it ‘restoring democracy’. But this looks more like an EU-backed COUP.
