Is this the new normal for college golf? Are you in favor of it or #shrink?

The second semifinal of the 126th U.S. Amateur has final vibes.
Stanford’s Jay Leng and Auburn’s Logan Reilly have been two of the best amateurs in the world this summer.
Leng, ranked 23rd in WAGR, was runner-up at the Northeast Amateur, shared fifth at the Southern Amateur and won the Western Amateur.
Reilly, ranked 56th, qualified for the U.S. Open, tied Leng at the Northeast and reached the semifinals of the Western.
Shows how inaccurate the WAGR rankings are … they heavily favor Int’l players
Replying to @jcolton31
It’s exceedingly difficult to become a ranked player on WAGR as a U.S.-based junior, and it’s very hard to earn points commensurate with skill level. A comparison of the top 60 U.S. vs International players by WAGR shows significant differences in scoring average and made cut rates despite much worse WAGR rankings on average.
This is true year after year. Something needs to change, either with the rankings and/or with the exemptions.

What is the modern Grand Slam in junior golf?
I'd argue it's this:
U.S. Junior Amateur
Junior PGA Championship
Junior Invitational at Sage Valley
AJGA Junior Players
Keep in mind that Sage Valley started in 2011 and the Junior Players in 2007, but no player has won each of the four championships.
Miles Russell could become the first on Saturday.
Here is a look at the players who have won at least two legs since 2011:
THREE LEGS
Miles Russell – 2023 Junior PGA, 2023 Junior Players, 2025 Junior Invitational, 2025 Junior Players, 2026 Junior Invitational
TWO LEGS
Robby Shelton – 2012 Junior PGA, 2012 Junior Players
Scottie Scheffler – 2013 U.S. Junior, 2014 Junior Invitational
Akshay Bhatia – 2017 Junior PGA, 2018 Junior Invitational, 2018 Junior PGA
Caleb Surratt – 2021 Junior PGA, 2022 Junior Invitational
Hamilton Coleman – 2024 Junior Players, 2025 U.S. Junior
Real (& mature) perspective of the difference between College Golf & pro Golf
Jackson Koivun makes his first start as a pro this week at the John Deere Classic, and the expectations are very high. Asked him about how he plans to tackle the adjustment from college golf to the PGA Tour, where it's every man for himself.
“College is so much fun and you have six to eight really, really close friends you're playing and competing with every day.
“Out here it's -- you're definitely by yourself. You have your select friends, but you're still playing against each other and playing for a job.
“Definitely felt that a little bit last summer, but I think I'll feel a little bit more now; just mentally getting ready to accept that this is your life now and just trying to enjoy it every step of the way.”

I don’t know what’s happening behind the scenes but I just hope the athletic department truly understands that you don’t just stumble upon a Ryan Hybl. He’s the best in the business
NEW: Ryan Hybl considering Georgia Tech offer despite OU willing to pay "whatever it takes" to keep him, sources tell @SoonerScoop👀

Farewell Coach Heppler 👋🫡
Looking like tomorrow will be the final round of @GTGolf coach Bruce Heppler's career.
Jackets are 14th out of 14 teams at the NCAA Bermuda Run Regional, 24 shots back of fifth place.
Hoping to put something out in the next couple weeks that will encapsulate Heppler's amazing career, which included stops at UNLV and Oklahoma State as an assistant. But for now, just want to tip the cap to Bruce, one of the best to ever do it.

Fascinating insight. Be an athlete AND a scholar, and you get hired!
Ken Griffin on the single factor he looks for when hiring at Citadel:
"show me an athlete who did well academically."
"an athlete because they know what it takes to win and they've had to experience loss."
talent is everywhere. what's rare is someone who knows how to lose, recover, and still perform at a high level.
same thing separates profitable traders from everyone else.
