Namibian NGO #FrackFreeNamibia has submitted an objection to #ReconAfrica's expanded drilling and seismic surveying programme. We raise objections on the following grounds:
1) The current updated EIA is based on a deeply flawed initial EIA process and as such cannot be updated
In spite of finding #no #oil during exploratory drilling on community-owned farms and community conservancies in Namibia’s Kavango regions, #ReconAfrica is drilling again. When will the Namibian government wake up and #SavetheOkavangoDelta?
🚨 Controversial Canadian oil and gas company @Recon_Africa has resumed its extensive drilling operations in Namibia's Kavango regions. We cannot allow the people and rich biodiversity of Kavango and Okavango to be sacrificed for fossil fuel profits. #SaveTheOkavango
