Our recent @PNASNews paper on multigenerational adversity and child microbiome has been receiving a lot of press. In general that is a positive. However, I have been seeing some headlines that are sensationalist and incorrect. A short thread/rant: 1/5

July marked the end of my postdoc @thebabl @yalecsc, and I can’t say enough good things about my time there and especially having @hjvrutherford as a postdoc mentor - I truly could not have wished for a better training experience. (1/3)
I learned a ton, got to work with smart and kind and curious people whom I’ll continue to collaborate with, was supported in getting NIH and other funding and applying for TT jobs, and also became a parent myself! (2/3)

After years of work, our cool DBT project is finally available. We recorded videos teaching all of the DBT skills for people who can't access a comprehensive program, for those who aren't yet ready for group, or for students learning DBT. Even more exciting, a coupon code is 👇

It has been my greatest professional honor to be entrusted with continuing Nancy’s work. I am of course proud and excited to share this paper, but my primary feeling is gratitude.
Needless to say, I couldn’t do this work without incredible colleagues who carry her torch with me

Ever wondered how many symptoms make up all of adult psychopathology described in the DSM-5? It’s 628!
How many do you think repeat across multiple diagnoses? If you answered 231 symptoms repeating a total of 1022 times (median 3 times per symptom, range 2-22), good job!
🧵

ALT A plot of the repetition among the symptoms in the DSM-5 showing substantial overlap within and between chapters of diagnoses. 202 primary disorders and specifiers are represented, and diagnostic criteria have been split into a list of 1419 constituent symptoms. Each dot on the circumference is a symptom; its size represents symptom frequency. Lines linking symptoms map the repetition among diagnoses within and between chapters.
