Spent a bit more time in @Blender trying to do a product vis shot of the Samsung S27 Ultra in 4 colours with a better transition than the last one.
Also tried adding a privacy display demo to the notification at the top, but it didn't quite work out as planned.
Using the leaked One Ui 9.5 update screen seemed like a good idea at the time to make it more of a genuine concept reproduction but in hindsight, a standard Samsung wallpaper would've worked better.
All fun and games.
If you use #Blender or work on product vis - feel free to send me some tips.
@OTOY's OCtane is also a LOT easier to use than Cycles, but maybe that's because I'm used to it.
Tech channel PhoneBuff just released one of the first drop-test videos for the iPhone Duo.
"From the very first drop, the hinge mechanism jammed and couldn't open fully flat.
By the fourth drop, the impact traveling through the body totally killed the inner screen, the left half lost signal and the right half completely lost touch response"
And @iTechApples had so many issues with the iPhone Duo he went to return it at the Apple Store, and the employees acted like he committed a crime.
Video below - drop test linked 👇🏼
Hopefully everyone bought their Apple Care + 👀☠️
🚨 BREAKING: Tech channel PhoneBuff just released a drop-test video for the iPhone Duo
From the very first drop, the hinge mechanism jammed and couldn’t open fully flat.
By the fourth drop, the impact traveling through the body totally killed the inner screen, the left half lost signal and the right half completely lost touch response.
Although the outer screen still works, the unfolding function is basically disabled.
All those times I said "Oh, so the IPhone Duo has got matte screen protector on then?"
All the backlash I got and horrified comments from Apple users praising the genius that is the 10 layer, creaseless, moving, nano technology touch screen, that only Apple could possibly make.
And it's a Nano texture screen protector.
Much like the one on my Samsung! 🤔👇🏼
Hinge Gate, Cracking Gate, Screen Gate? 👀🤔
Whatever people are choosing to call it - it's legit and not a great start to Apple's first foldable.
@kenw_2 shared this 👇🏼 (video below).
"This user may have inadvertently confirmed the cause of the iPhone Duo screen cracking. After just one day of use, the hinge has already started protruding.
Because all the crack points discovered so far are almost in the exact same location-slightly below the midline of the inner screen, right where this user noticed the bulge. Unless something unexpected happens, it will soon push upward and break through the screen. The user has now contacted Apple after-sales service.
From the examples of screen cracking among domestic and international users so far, the number is actually quite substantial-it's even become a hot post on Reddit. Apple has not yet confirmed any defects in the hinge design or manufacturing (and even if there really are, given Apple's nature, it's hard for them to admit it), so it's recommended to keep watching and wait for a response."

It's not from the @ZacksJerryRig video
Samsung is already testing post-rollout bug fix builds for the Galaxy S24 series as One UI 9 expands globally.
A new test build has just been spotted on the test servers for international models:
Build: S938BXXU6EZJB/S938BOXM6EZJB
This steps the bootloader up from S6 to U6, which usually signals more than just a routine monthly security patch.
With European and North American rollouts actively underway, Samsung's software team is clearly working to iron out early battery drain and stutter reports before the wider regional waves land.
If you're running One UI 9 on an S24 series device, what's the one bug you want patched first? 🤔
The Duo, it seems, was in fact poorly designed in certain areas...
So everyone mocking Samsung's 7-8 years of foldable experience might have given them the edge after all.
SnapGate is real 👀🤯

This is NOT a great start for Apple.
IOS 27 rollout was a disaster - and now the Duo reportedly has a critical flaw in it's display...
And we're only 24 hours into launch.
@johnternus has had a rough start! 😬☠️👀

CrackGate... 👀

More examples keep turning up... CrackGate is real!
Someone's already sold their IPhone 18 Pro 2TB to @Cex in my local shop in the UK!
They would've sold that at as serious loss. 🤯
What would pick up for these prices? 🤔

Couldn't help looking at the Pixel and @UKHonor V6 feeling all discarded too. 2 stunning looking handsets...

Sand & dust test comparing the iPhone Duo and Samsung Z Fold8 by @ZacksJerryRig.
The iPhone duo with an IP68 dust and water resistance rating can't even close after some sand and dust get in the hinge.
Not that most people are going to be pouring sand or grit on their foldable but the IP rating seems a bit exaggerated with the Duo.
As the older device, the Samsung seems to hold its own - Apple's first foldable won't be convincing me to swap any time soon.
